1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 V8 Muncie Rock Crusher 4-Speed
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is an outstanding example of Chevrolet muscle, combining a sinister Code 19 Black exterior, black interior, big-block 454 power and a Muncie Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission.
The car has an interesting history, having reportedly been purchased and raced in Southern Florida before being placed into storage beginning in the mid-1990s. An extensive restoration was completed in 2019, bringing this Chevelle back to the impressive condition you see today.
Under the cowl-induction hood sits a stout LS6 454 cubic-inch 4-bolt-main V8, featuring block casting 3963512 correct casting used for 1970 454 applications, including the LS6 450 HP.
The engine is equipped with 3964292 cylinder heads, a correct-style solid-lifter camshaft, 3963569 intake manifold, correct 1970 high-performance aluminum rectangular-port intake used on the LS6
Backing the big block is the highly desirable Muncie Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission, sending power to a 12-bolt Positraction rear differential. The car is also equipped with F41 suspension and power disc brakes, making this a serious performance-oriented Chevelle.
The exterior is finished in Paint Code 19 Black, one of the most striking colors available on a 1970 Chevelle. The iconic body lines are complemented by the cowl-induction hood, factory SS wheels and dual exterior mirrors, delivering the unmistakable appearance that made the 1970 Chevelle SS legendary.
Inside you ll find the equally desirable Trim Code 756 Black interior featuring bucket seats, center console, seat belts and factory gauges. One particularly cool piece is the original 6,500 RPM redline tachometer. The original radio remains in place, along with a tinted windshield and windshield washers.
