"Cruisin Classics is excited to present the newest arrival in our showroom – this rare 1969 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible. Over 80,000 Road Runners were made in 1969 but only 2,128 were convertibles, and this is a spectacular example of one of those cars. Not only is this Mopar in exceptionally nice condition, it retains its original engine, drivetrain, carburetor, intake, heads, and exhaust, and to top it all off – it comes with its original fender tag in place and a perfectly legible original Broadcast Sheet! We also have ownership history (through documents and receipts) since 1990 showing only 2 owners since, the most recent for 27 years. Let's take a deep dive into the details of this truly stunning Plymouth...
This '69 Road Runner comes to us today dressed in a deep and glossy respray of its original color – B7 Jamaica Blue with slick wide black stripes and dual faux vents with red toppers on the hood. We don't know when it was repainted, but we do have a group of receipts from the most recent owner that show almost $12K spent on unspecified work at Born Again Auto Body in PA in 2007. It appears that the rear quarters and trunk pan have been replaced (which may have been part of that big bill) and they were done exceedingly well. The floorpans are original and in excellent condition. Up front ahead of the hood you'll find a horizontal grille flanked by dual round side by side headlights with a bright chrome bumper beneath. Not to be missed are the hood/fender mounted turn signals (L31) – a very cool option that adds to the classic look. Moving around to the side you'll notice ""383"" call-out badges on the sides of the faux hood vents, bright windshield trim, belt moldings (M31), a left hand remote racing mirror (G33), ""road runner"" door badging and colorful bird decal, and a power-operated black vinyl convertible top. The top in in fantastic condition, works flawlessly, and sports a clear glass back window. A tight-fitting Blue boot cover is included to cover the top when it's down (a nice extra!). Perfectly completing the side view are a set of chrome Cragar wheels (15X7 front, 15X8 rear) with direct-fit acorn-style lugnuts, all wrapped in white letter BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. Around back are a ""road runner"" badge and bird decal on the decklid, another nice chrome bumper and dual chrome oval-shaped exhaust tips that emit a hearty rumble.
Prepare to be impressed when the hood goes up – inside is everything you could hope for in both content and appearance! The engine bay is organized, immaculately clean, and dressed in slick blue body-color paint. At the center is the original numbers-matching 383ci V-8 (VIN stamped on the pad) and it's coated in fresh orange paint. Also painted in brilliant orange are the original heads, original intake, valve covers, and water pump. Sitting atop the intake is the original Carter AVS 4-barrel carburetor topped off with a correct black air cleaner with ""383 Road Runner Engine"" decal. Other highlights include a black Chrysler radiator, power steering, points ignition, and the iconic purple ""beep-beep"" horn. Exhaust flows through the original HP manifolds (in excellent condition) and newer mufflers before exiting the chrome tips at the rear. Stopping power comes courtesy of 4-wheel drum brakes with a dual reservoir. The big V-8 is mated up to the original numbers-matching 727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission (VIN-stamped on side pad) that puts power to the pavement via the original 8 ¾"" Chrysler rear axle with freeway-friendly 3.23 SureGrip gears.
Swing open the drivers door to reveal a very attractive and comfortable 2-tone Blue interior. The door panels are in good condition and share the 2-tone look with bright accents and a drivers mirror toggle. The front armrests do appear slightly sun-faded, likely from top-down summer cruising. The two-tone blue front and rear bench seats are in exemplary condition with no visible demerits and they're as comfortable as they are good-looking. Underfoot is high-quality blue hook & loop carpet and overhead are blue sun-visors. Ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke faux wood steering wheel with working ""beep-beep"" horn on a fixed column. The wheel fronts a crack-free blue dash that's home to working gauges for alt, gas, and temp as well as a 120mph speedometer. Also on the dash are controls for the lights, flasher, working 3-speed wipers (J25), and the power convertible top. In the center of the dash is a working Chrysler solid state 2-watt AM push-button radio (R11) that plays through a speaker atop the dash. Just above the radio under the lip of the dash is where you'll find controls for the working heater and fan. Ahead of the passenger is an empty flip-up door glovebox with working courtesy light and just above it are another ""road runner"" badge and bird decal. Around back in the trunk you'll see a plaid vinyl mat, a non-matching spare, and a factory-style jack.
If you're looking for a collectible classic Mopar, you can't go wrong with this '69 Road Runner convertible! This rare ride really does check almost every imaginable box – numbers-matching engine and drivetrain, Broadcast Sheet, original fender tag, folders of documents and receipts, power steering, power top in great condition and working order, slick paint in original color, and a very nice two-tone interior with working accessories! With only 2128 produced 57 years ago, how many are still on the road? How many still have their original engine and drivetrain? How many are in this high level of condition? You can surely see what we mean when we call this Road Runner rare! The opportunity to own one of these cars doesn't arise very often, so don't miss this chance – give our friendly staff a call today!

Here at Cruisin Classics, we understand that you have many options when choosing where you purchase your classic, muscle or collector car and we would like to thank you for considering us.
Cruisin Classics has been buying and selling cars for many years.. The majority were your average daily drivers but our passion has always been in muscle cars and hot rods so in 1996, Cruisin Classics built a 56,000 sq.ft. showroom located in Columbus, OH that they still operate out of today. All of our vehicles are hand-picked and selected to ensure they fit our inventory. This facility is now arguably one of the best-stocked collections for sale in the US housing hundreds of unique automobiles all under one roof. We invite you to our facility! There is something for everybody when you come to visit.
After years of serving as central Ohio's premiere classic car dealer at Cruisin Classics Auto Sales, we saw an unfulfilled need that was not being met for our clients. We loved helping match our clients with the classic and American muscle cars of their dreams. But what about after the purchase? We recognized that our clients needed a trusted resource to continue to care for their classic vehicles. It did not sit well with us that our valued clients and their incredible vehicles were being outsourced to, sometimes several, third-party resources for maintenance and performance needs. We also wanted to help the many people that we had met over the years who already owned classic vehicles which were in need of restoration, upgrades, and maintenance. Too often, we were seeing vehicles with so much potential left sitting in garages under covers because their owners did not know who to turn to for such specialized work. It is our goal to offer our clients a truly comprehensive, seamless, and enjoyable classic car ownership experience, from purchase to maintenance to storage. Thus, Cruisin Classics Performance Center was born. We have cherry-picked the most talented, experienced, and passionate team of technicians to offer our clients a true one-stop-shop solution for any and all of their classic car needs. Our honest business model has lasted almost 25 years to date and Cruisin Classics has a worldwide reputation as one of the best in the business.
Outside of the shop, this business has afforded us the opportunity to be actively involved in our community and fulfill our goal of supporting several local and national organizations that hold a special place in our hearts. We are proud sponsors of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus, the Columbus USO, Honor Flight, Special Olympics, multiple car clubs, and much more.
In conclusion, 100% customer satisfaction is our main goal. Always has been.. always will be. We would like to invite anyone considering one of our vehicles to come to our beautiful facility to inspect the car in person or send somebody on your behalf.
