1969 Plymouth GTX, Numbers Matching, Ground-Up Restored, Factory R6 Scorch Red This stunning 1969 Plymouth GTX represents a rare opportunity to own a properly restored, numbers-matching example that has been under long-term, meticulous ownership for over 20 years. Built by a respected Mopar specialist, this car reflects a level of care, precision, and execution that is increasingly difficult to find in today’s market. Retaining its original body panels, the car features an exceptionally straight, rust-free body that speaks to both its integrity and the quality of the restoration. Correct date-coded components are present throughout, reinforcing its authenticity and appeal to serious collectors. Finished in its rare factory-code R6 Scorch Red, the car received a high-end professional paint job that presents beautifully. The finish has excellent depth and clarity, highlighting the GTX’s bold, unmistakable muscle car presence. This was a true ground-up restoration, completed with attention to detail on virtually every component, resulting in a car that feels tight, cohesive, and exceptionally well sorted throughout. Under the hood sits the correct 1969 440 cubic inch V8, paired with a 727 TCI automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit. Power is delivered through a 3.23 Sure Grip rear end, offering an ideal balance between strong acceleration and comfortable highway cruising. The car shifts with authority and performs exactly as a GTX should responsive, powerful, and confident. Notable features and upgrades include: Factory air conditioning and heat, both in proper working order Original AM radio remains functional Hidden AM/FM stereo system discreetly mounted in the trunk with remote control in the center console FM converter located in the glovebox Powder-coated front suspension components, torsion bars, driveshaft, and rear end New stainless steel fuel tank New brake lines and fuel lines New wheels and tires 275/60/15 rear tires 245/60/15 front tires Original factory GTX floor mats preserved under the carpet Wheel and Tire Disclaimer: The vehicle will come with its original Magnum 500 wheels along with the tires currently mounted on the car. The wheels presently shown on the vehicle are not included in the sale. What truly separates this GTX from the majority of cars on the market is how it drives. The car is remarkably smooth, tight, and quiet, with no rattles, squeaks, or unwanted vibrations. That level of refinement is a direct result of a restoration done correctly not rushed, not pieced together, but thoughtfully executed from start to finish. This is the kind of classic you can confidently enjoy whether that means taking it to shows, cruising on the weekend, or simply owning a piece of true American muscle history that has been preserved and elevated the right way. A highly detailed, investment-grade Mopar with the right pedigree, the right components, and the right feel. Opportunities to acquire a GTX of this caliber are becoming increasingly limited. Past & Present Motor Cars was founded in June of 2018 by Jack and Jeff and began in 2 small warehouses in Ocala and Winter Garden, Florida. After seeing the business have steady growth in the first year and a half in March 2020 we moved our Main Location in Winter Garden to a new location that at the time seemed huge. We were a little nervous to take on this larger building and higher rent but we knew we had to THINK BIG. After getting moved in, that was the start of Covid. Just after getting settled in we put signs on the door saying we were only open by appointment. While it was a tough time in the world it actually was a good time to be in the car business especially the classic car business and we continued to see steady growth. After 2 1/2 years in that location we proceeded to acquire 4 buildings and lease a 5th building. This allowed for the operation we have today with 150+ Classic Cars and a Service Department. We are still doing the same thing we have done everyday since we opened, Great Customer Service, Owners that are Available and Accessible for our customers and very happy to talk cars anytime anywhere. We will never grow too big to be real with anyone! Keeping our commitment to our customers through straightforward business and ALWAYS doing the right thing! We are the same people with the same commitment as the day we opened and our slogan is and remains:
