1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible SS 396 Tribute | 454 Big Block Announced as America s most popular mid-size car, the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle debuted with revised front-end styling that included quad headlights and a new grille. Available in multiple body styles and trim levels, the Chevelle appealed to awide range of buyers and ultimately became the most popular muscle car in America for 1969, surpassing the Pontiac GTO.
For performance-minded buyers, Chevrolet offered the Super Sport (SS) package (RPO Z25) on select Malibu and Chevelle models. The SS package included the legendary Mark IV 396ci big-block V8 along with distinctive SS badging, a domed hood, blacked-out taillamp panel, and power front disc brakes. This 1969 Chevelle convertible has been upgraded to full SS 396 trim, and is powered by a strong-running 454 big-block V8 paired with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, offering classic muscle car performance with open-top cruising appeal.
