1968 Plymouth GTX The GTX was introduced by Plymouth in 1967 and produced for 4 years. They were positioned as a mid-sized upscale performance muscle car and in 1968 they were given a completely new look with the hourglass style body. They were marketed as "the gentleman's muscle car" and to this day are very popular collector vehicles. This car took it to the next level adding even more "muscle" into the equation. The full custom build was done professionally and the car runs great. It is being sold out of a private collection where it has spent the last 17 years of its life. Starting with the body the car is very solid and painted in a bright Green with a lift off Black fiberglass hood. It wears all of its GTX emblems with the dual Black side stripes. The glass is all in good condition and is slightly tinted. It has its stock chrome front/rear bumpers which has a nice finish with no pitting or issues. It rides on a set of polished American Racing torq thrust wheels with 235/45R17 front tires with 275/40R17 in the rear. Peaking through the hood is a powerful 440 motor fitted with a BDS blower, MSD distributor, dual Holley carburetors, and Mopar valve covers. The car runs very strong and has all the power you could ask for. It is cooled with an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and Green hardline hoses. That all is paired with a 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and unleashes all that power through dual exhaust that sounds great. The interior is all done in Black upholstery with a full Green painted roll cage. It has dual front bucket seats with RCI race belts and a full bench in the rear. The dash has some of its stock controls but has been modified with an aftermarket stereo, controls for the electric fuel pump, and Auto Meter underdash gauges. The steering column is painted to match the exterior and fitted with an Auto Meter sport comp tachometer. Between the seats is a Quicksilver B&M shifter that allows you to put it in drive or ratchet through the gears manually. In the trunk is mounted the fuel cell, battery, and a Nitrous bottle for looks. Behind the license plate is a cut off for the battery when not in use and the Nitrous system has never been used. This is a very cool car that is going to get attention wherever it goes. It runs well and the odometer reflects 4,792 miles on the build. This awesome machine could be yours for $59,000.00!
