This 1968 AMC Javelin Restomod is a striking example of classic American Motors styling blended with custom performance upgrades. Finished in its factory-correct Tahiti Turquoise, the paint shows beautifully with just a few small brush touch-ups. The body panels, trunk, and undercarriage remain impressively clean and appear original throughout.
A set of front-mounted fog lights in the grille subtly modernizes the look while enhancing visibility. Chrome and stainless trim retain good luster and presence, though close examination will reveal light pitting consistent with age. Still, the car presents with classic muscle car charm from every angle.
Power comes from a well-prepped 350ci Chevy V8 mated to a TH200 automatic transmission. The engine bay is nicely detailed with chrome valve covers, a new Holley double pumper carburetor, Edelbrock intake, HEI ignition, and a mild cam—all feeding into aggressive “Thrush” side pipes that produce an unmistakable sound. An aluminum radiator with custom shroud and an Optima battery ensure solid reliability.
Inside, the black interior has been tastefully updated with newer bucket seats, a B&M shifter, center console, Sun Pro gauges, and Grant steering wheel. While the car does not have a radio, it does have the raw performance and attention to detail that make it a pleasure to drive. The 10-gallon fuel cell in the trunk is a professional install, replacing the original tank. The odometer currently reads 38,829 miles and is operational, though actual mileage is undocumented.
