1967 Shelby GT500 For Sale - Dual Quad 428ci Police Interceptor, Listed In Shelby Registry LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967 Shelby GT500 The next evolution of the Shelby Mustang came in the form of the GT500, a car that introduced Ford’s new big-block power to the Shelby lineup while broadening its appeal to a more refined performance buyer. Shelby and Ford understood that their clientele wanted more than outright speed; they wanted a car that could deliver serious performance while remaining comfortable, reliable, and suitable for everyday use. At the heart of the 1967 GT500 was Ford’s formidable 428 cubic inch Police Interceptor V8, equipped with 10.0:1 compression, a high-lift camshaft, and dual 600-cfm Holley four-barrel carburetors mounted on an aluminum medium-rise intake manifold. Factory rated at a conservative 355 horsepower, many Shelby enthusiasts have long believed actual output was significantly higher, with torque measured at an impressive 420 lb-ft. For 1967, Shelby Mustangs also benefited from progressive-rate springs that provided a comfortable highway ride while firming under load for improved handling. Combined with the model’s distinctive fiberglass hood, nose, rear deck, and signature scoops, the GT500 delivered unmistakable style to match its impressive capability. It was an instant success, outselling the 1967 GT350 by nearly two to one, with just 2,048 examples produced, all in fastback form. This 1967 Shelby GT500 was originally delivered to Coveney Ford in West Roxbury on June 5, 1967. Finished in striking Lime Gold with White stripes, it is powered by the desirable dual-quad 428 Police Interceptor V8 backed by a C6 automatic transmission. Well optioned, this GT500 is equipped with air conditioning, the Extra Cooling Package, Deluxe Wheels, Courtesy Light Group, Interior Décor Group, AM radio, Fold-Down Rear Seat, power steering, and power brakes. Beautifully restored, this Shelby has spent its most recent years as part of a prominent collection, carefully maintained in a fully climate-controlled environment. This GT500 comes fully documented with an Elite Marti Report and is listed in the Shelby American World Registry, confirming its original factory configuration and further reinforcing its authenticity and desirability. -
