1967 Mercury Caliente Convertible 390ci-2V with 4-Speed Transmission
1 of 12 Big Block Caliente Convertibles Produced - The Only One Finished in Black!
This 1967 Mercury Caliente Convertible is an exceptionally rare and highly documented example powered by its factory-equipped 390ci big block V8 and backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. According to the included MARTI Report, only 12 big block Caliente convertibles were produced for 1967, and this is believed to be the only example finished at the factory in Onyx Black with red interior.
Ordered through the Memphis DSO and sold new by Schilling Parkway Motors of Memphis, Tennessee, this Caliente represents a seldom-seen combination of factory performance, rarity, and striking color contrast. Retaining its original-style presentation throughout, the car presents as a highly usable driver-quality example with excellent curb appeal and rare collector significance.

MECHANICAL
Power comes from the factory 390ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine bay retains a factory-style appearance featuring the original intake, exhaust configuration, and ignition system. The car starts easily, runs strong, and delivers the unmistakable feel of a late-1960s Mercury muscle convertible.
CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION
This Caliente is equipped with a 3.00:1 rear axle ratio along with factory power steering for comfortable cruising. Manual drum brakes are fitted front and rear. Chrome factory rally wheels wrapped in raised-letter tires complement the period-correct appearance.
EXTERIOR
Finished in correct black with a matching black convertible top, the car presents with excellent overall presence while maintaining an honest driver-quality character. Original emblems and brightwork remain in place throughout. The finish shows some minor blemishes and touch-ups consistent with a well-maintained, enjoyed classic rather than a concours restoration.
INTERIOR
The cabin features its factory-style red bench seat interior, creating a striking contrast against the black exterior. The interior maintains a clean, original-style appearance that complements the car's authentic presentation.

With documented production rarity, desirable performance options, and Memphis-area provenance, this 1967 Mercury Caliente Convertible stands as an exceptional piece of Mercury muscle car history.
Whether added to a serious Mercury collection or enjoyed as a distinctive vintage cruiser, this Caliente offers exclusivity and presence that few contemporaries can match.

At Art & Speed, we believe that automobiles are more than just transportation. They are part of the "thrill ride" of life!
Maybe it was the car that carried you and that special person on your first date; or brought home your newborn baby. Perhaps a certain car brought father and son together in a project that created cherished memories through frustration, laughter and proud accomplishments. Maybe it was the object that created freedom and exhilaration from the growl of the big block engine, the smell of the interior and the fuel, the feeling of being one with the road. Perhaps it's all about the first time you saw your favorite car with it's sleek lines, wild colors, bold graphics, or elegant sense of beauty and artful design. The wind in your face and hair… The sensation of speed… And remember the family vacations? And, of course, none of us ever had our picture taken with our cars, right?
As adults, we have a passion for the "vehicles of our lives," the stories that they remind us of, the music that we hear when we see certain automobiles. Indeed, automobiles are woven into the tapestry of our lives, reminding us of simpler pleasures.
At Art & Speed, our goal is to help you relive those experiences and create new ones. Founded by Kevin Caffman and Barry Gilmore, Art & Speed delivers the vehicles, memorabilia and special events that strike passion, revive old memories, and allow us to share those events with our family and friends. Kevin has been a "car guy" since he was old enough to peer out the car windows, identifying every car by year, make and model. Over the years, he has built a reputation for building, owning and selling high quality collector cars. With a background in business, information technology and digital marketing, he has continued to pursue the art of classic automobiles as a hobby. After a successful career in the corporate world, Kevin decided to pursue his dream of owning and building a "different kind of business". Kevin sees vintage, classic and performance cars as an emotional interaction, merging the worlds of performance with the art of the automobile. Thus the vision for Art & Speed was born!
