According to its Elite Marti Report, this Mustang was born a factory S-Code 390-4V Fastback, finished in Candyapple Red over Red Decor Bucket Seats, and equipped from new with the GT Equipment Group, four-speed manual transmission, and a 3.25 limited-slip differential.Today, the Mustang has been upgraded with a 5-speed manual transmission for more relaxed highway cruising and a Holley Sniper EFI system for improved starting, drivability, and fuel delivery. The 390 is further enhanced with an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold, mild camshaft, and long-tube headers feeding a 3-inch Flowmaster exhaust system. A Flex-a-lite 3-inch aluminum radiator helps keep the big-block running cool, while power steering, a Wilwood master cylinder, and front disc brakes further improve drivability and braking performance.The exterior is finished in its iconic Candyapple Red, and the overall presentation is exceptional. The paint shows excellent depth and gloss, complemented by clean, consistent panel fit and well-defined body lines throughout the Fastback. The chrome, stainless trim, emblems, glass surrounds, and other brightwork present beautifully, providing the crisp contrast that makes the Candyapple Red finish stand out. Legendary Magnum 500-style wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires complete the look, giving this GT the muscular, period-correct stance a big-block 67 Mustang deserves.The Marti Report tells an impressive story. Of the 472,209 Mustangs produced for 1967, just 17,350 were equipped with the 390-4V, and only 9,759 combined the 390 with a four-speed manual transmission. From there, this cars combination becomes increasingly uncommon: only 1,275 were Candyapple Red, 93 combined that paint with Red Decor Bucket Seats, 67 of those received the GT Equipment Group!Its factory equipment list is extensive, including the GT Equipment Group, limited-slip differential, Courtesy Light Group, F70-14 wide-oval tires, overhead and floor console, Deluxe steering wheel, Sport Deck rear seat, AM/8-Track stereo, Exterior Decor Group, Interior Decor Group, tinted glass, Deluxe seat belts, and styled steel wheels.This car was Built at the (R) San Jose CA Assembly plant and was delivered new to Cannon Bros Ford in Scottsblufff Nebraska late 1966. Just prior to the passing of the matriarch of LaFontaine Automotive Group, Maureen LaFontaine, the building in downtown Milford became available and it was the ideal location to launch LaFontaine Classic Cars. The attention to detail and automotive nostalgia throughout is a tribute to Maureen and her everlasting legacy.
The showroom aims to bring buyers back in time to a more classic feel. In addition to all the vehicles in the showroom, the space is decorated with vintage signs from vehicle brands of the past. Not only are there vehicles in the building, but the parking lot to the south contains many others available for purchase.
Michael Sr. commented, “This area is prefect for us as we have a lot of roots in Milford and absolutely love this quaint downtown. We look forward to welcoming fellow automotive enthusiasts through our showroom doors and they can expect to receive the same Family Deal feeling people have come to expect at any of our other dealerships. It’s all about personalizing the experience and having fun at the same time.”
LaFontaine Classic Cars acquires vehicles several ways, with a majority of them coming through auction and Michael Sr.’s personal collection.
