If you want a 1967 Corvette Convertible but don?t want to deal with the typical issues that come with owning a classic car, a restomod like this one is the way to go. A proper restomod preserves the timeless lines of the original while incorporating modern engineering underneathand this little red custom Corvette is a textbook example of how to do it right.
If it weren?t for the sporty wheels, a casual observer might even mistake it for an original. It is most definitely not originalbut in many ways, it?s even better.
Built on a Coffman Corvette chassis, the underside features double-adjustable coilover shocks and brakes from a C6 Z06 (including calipers and rotors), giving it supercar-level handling. Under the hood is a new 495 HP LS3 engine, cleverly dressed to resemble the original L71 427/435 HP. Unless you look closely and spot the fuel rails, you?d swear it came from the factory that way.
The original 4-speed transmission has been replaced with a smooth-shifting Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed overdrive paired with a GM clutch, offering improved drivability and performance.
The interior has been tastefully upgraded while retaining a factory-fresh look. Thanks to rack-and-pinion steering on the new chassis, a Flaming River tilt column has been added, making entry and exit easierespecially into the white leather bucket seats with headrests. A Dakota Digital RTX gauge cluster and clock now take the place of outdated originals, and the radio has been upgraded with Bluetooth capability.
To enhance comfort, the car features Vintage Air Gen IV climate control. The original emergency brake lever has been replaced with a push-button electronic unit, and the console switches still operate the power windows. Known reliability issues with the factory headlight and wiper motors have been resolved using Detroit Speed motor kits.
As you can see, the upgrades on this Corvette provide modern amenities that make it more enjoyable, safer, and more reliable to drive, all while staying true to the original design. It still wears all the factory badging, trim, and even side pipes, but now you can get in and confidently drive it anywhere.

All dreams start with passion, and for Joe Verrillo, his passion has always been Corvettes and GM muscle cars. At age 17, he started a tiny shop called Classic Auto Sales and Service with just a handful of cars. The company quickly took off due to Joe’s persistence, hard work, and love of the great American muscle car, and was subsequently renamed Prestige Motor Car.
The Prestige name carried forward for nearly 40 years, and in 2019, the company was renamed Verrillo Motor Car in honor of its founder.
Today, more than 45 years later, Verrillo Motor Car Company is a leader in Corvette, specialty, and highline cars. With nearly a dozen employees, VMCC is carefully creating, caretaking and curating some of the finest C1, C2 and C3 Corvettes in the world, as well as buying, trading and selling very select, high-quality late model Corvettes and specialty cars. All vehicles are thoroughly inspected and serviced by the VMCC team of technicians. Verrillo Motor Car also offers service, detailing, reconditioning, award winning frame-off restorations, custom restomods, world-wide transportation, and creative financing and extended service options.
In recent years, Verrillo Motor Car has added consignment and brokerage services as well, creating new world-class sales and buying options for their customers.
Through the years, VMCC has had a number of their meticulously crafted Corvettes featured in national publications including Corvette Magazine, Super Chevy Magazine, Hemmings Motor News, Hemmings Muscle Machine, and ‘Vette Magazine.
Verrillo Motor Car is proud to be a founding member of the National Corvette Museum, an active and multi-award winning participant in the National Corvette Restorer’s Society and Bloomington Gold, and sponsor of such great organizations as The Saratoga Auto Museum and CAPTAIN Community Human Services.
