Comprised of small, sporty coupes that could be optioned with big engines, this became one of the most popular classes of car in the era and has gone on to become one of the most coveted American classic cars out there. When it came to Camaros in the 1967 model year, it was hard to do better than an RS/SS 396 - just like this example.Sold new at Madisons Chevrolet in Scottsdale, AZ on June 30th 1967, the original owner Raul Martinez kept the car until 1988. Finished in a striking color scheme of Tahoe Turquoise with white Bumblebee stripes, over a Turquoise vinyl interior, this Camaro is absolutely gorgeous to look at. The 1967 Camaros featured a slightly less muscular, almost European shape when compared to the later cars, and the exterior of this car is rounded out nicely by a set of 14-inch Kelsey Hayes Rallye wheels with redline tires. The interior of this car was custom ordered with the Z23 Interior Decor Group with included bucket seats, a console, full instrumentation, tinted glass and more. The Turquoise vinyl wraps the seats front and rear, along with the door cards and rear trim panels and the carpet is even dyed to match. Drop down into the drivers seat and youre met by a 3-spoke teak-rimmed steering wheel that frames a large speedometer and tachometer in front of the driver, with auxiliary gauges to your right by the console. The 396ci V8 is one of the most legendary engines from Chevrolets family of big blocks. In L35 trim, it produces 325 horsepower and a stump pulling 410 Lb-Ft of torque which was more than enough to make this lightweight Camaro a rocket. Power is then sent through a Muncie M20 4-speed manual gearbox topped by a sweet shifting Hurst shifter, to the rear wheels via a 12-bolt rear end with 3.31 Positraction. According to the Protect-O-Plate, both the engine and rear end are numbers matching for this Camaro, but the Muncie gearbox is date coded from 1965. For easier driving, the car is also equipped with both power steering and power disc brakes. The first generation Camaro is without a doubt one of the most coveted classic cars in the United States - appreciated by car lovers who remember it when it was new, as well as those who are only just getting into the hobby. This example is particularly special with a string of long-term owners, a drop-dead gorgeous color combination and that potent 396ci V8 and 4-speed manual topping it all off.*-----------*For more information on this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 396 or any of our 100+ high-performance cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to stop by our Bellevue, WA Park Place Ltd campus - where we have over 40,000 sq ft of indoor showrooms filled with the finest cars.
