At that time, Abercrombie & Fitch were retailers of Fine African Big Game Rifles, Bird hunting shotguns, Fly Rods & other expensive gentleman's sporting gear. They also listed this CAR in their 1967 Christmas catalog. It was priced at a very costly $4900 (when a new Ford Mustang was only $2900) Approximately 15 were sold. Buyers included James Brown, Steven Tyler of Areosmith, and Liberace (his is on display in his Las Vegas museum) The car: It is an Abercrombie-Branded version of the Glassic-built Ford 180A Model A Deluxe Phaeton. The bodies were mounted on the very durable International Scout 2WD chassis & running gear. Comanche 4 cyl engine (twice the HP of a Model A) and Three Speed floor-shift transmission. Parts are readily available at O'Reillys & other parts stores. 35,000 original miles. Always stored indoors. Can I Speak directly with the owner? With all the rising scams on Craigslist and other sites, sellers list with us to protect their privacy. So in most cases the owner only wants to talk with ClassicCarDeals and we deal with the buyer, but there is a rare occasion where we can do a 3 Way phone Call with the owner. We and the owner are more than happy to get any and all questions and pictures that you need to make a sound decision.
