This 1966 Sunbeam Tiger spent much of its life in California and was reportedly stored for 30 years by its second owner before being brought to Alabama in 2010. The car is finished in red over a black interior and is powered by a replacement 289ci V8 that has been modified with a Holley 390 CFM carburetor and 351W cylinder heads. Shifting is through a Ford Toploader four-speed manual transmission, and features include a black removable hardtop, a black soft top, 15 Minilite wheels, front disc brakes, vinyl upholstery, a wood dash, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel. This car comes with purchase documents, a Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association Certificate of Authenticity, factory manuals, partial service records, spare parts. Originally finished in Arctic White (92), the car was repainted its current shade of red around 1980. Exterior features include a black removable hardtop, chrome bumpers with overriders, a driver-side mirror, and angle-cut exhaust finishers. A replacement Robbins soft top and boot have been installed in the last three years. The passenger-side headlight trim has been repainted a slightly different shade, and additional finish imperfections are shown in the gallery below. 15 Minilite wheels are mounted with 195/50 Yokohama S Drive front and 205/60 Yokohama AVID ENVigor rear tires. The brake booster has been removed, and the previous owner installed a replacement dual master cylinder, rebuilt rear wheel cylinders, and refurbished front calipers with stainless steel pistons. The front end was also refreshed during current ownership with a replacement cross-member, shocks, bushings, springs, and tie-rod ends. The low-back bucket seats were refreshed in 2012 with replacement cushions and black vinyl upholstery. Matching carpets line the floors, and amenities include a wood dash, an analog clock, and a lockable center console, the latter of which is not secured per the seller. No heater core is currently installed, and the alternator/ignition indicator is not wired. The Moto-Lita steering wheel features a Sunbeam center cap and sits ahead of a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. The speedometer was rebuilt and re-calibrated, and the tachometer was modified for electronic ignition. The five-digit odometer shows just under 50k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 289ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel Holley 390 CFM carburetor, 351W cylinder heads, a flat-tappet hydraulic camshaft, an MSD ignition coil, an oil cooler, and aftermarket headers feeding a 2 exhaust. The radiator is said to have been modified with a larger core and an electric fan, and the fuel tank was cleaned and re-installed in place of the previously-fitted fuel cell. The oil was reportedly changed about 1k miles ago. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a Ford Toploader four-speed manual transmission and a Dana limited-slip differential with 3.31:1 gearing. Corrosion is noted on the underbody. This car comes with 2 tops and has been a part of the Duncan Imports Collection since 2021.
