1966 Shelby GT350 - Hi-Po 289ci, Factory 4-Speed, Rotisserie Restored, Listed In The Shelby Registry The 1966 Shelby GT350 represents an important evolution of Carroll Shelby’s original high-performance Mustang. Building upon the uncompromising character of the 1965 model, the 1966 GT350 retained its competition-derived performance while introducing greater refinement and several distinctive styling updates. With limited production, genuine Shelby pedigree and a formidable racing legacy, the 1966 GT350 remains one of the most desirable American performance cars of the era. This exceptional example was finished from the factory in striking Candy Apple Red and is accented by iconic white Le Mans stripes. Its black bucket-seat interior provides a purposeful contrast, while factory 10-spoke aluminum wheels complete its unmistakable Shelby appearance. Under the hood is the “K-Code” Hi-Po 289-cubic-inch V8, upgraded by Shelby American to produce a factory-rated 306 horsepower. Power is delivered through its desirable factory-ordered four-speed manual transmission, providing the engaging performance for which the early GT350 became legendary. This GT350 has undergone a previous no-expense-spared rotisserie restoration performed with exceptional attention to authenticity and presentation. The car and its restoration were evaluated and inspected, and the Shelby has been recognized and awarded an MCACN Gold Concours award. Its identity and provenance are further supported by SAAC serial-number verification, inclusion in the Shelby Registry and accompanying Shelby invoices. Combining its factory Candy Apple Red specification, Hi-Po engine, four-speed transmission, award-winning restoration and extensive documentation, this 1966 Shelby GT350 represents an outstanding opportunity to acquire a highly authentic example of one of America’s most celebrated performance automobiles. -
