A MODERN TAKE ON PONTIAC’S MOST ICONIC MUSCLE CAR
This 1966 Pontiac GTO Restomod was completed in June 2022 as a full frame-off build, blending timeless GTO styling with modern performance and long-distance drivability. Built just in time for the Hot Rod Power Tour, the car has only 4,990 miles since completion — enough to prove reliability, yet still fresh in every way.
Finished in a deep Black Cherry with a crisp new black vinyl top, the car has a commanding presence and show-quality curb appeal. It was engineered to look classic, drive modern, and perform at a level well beyond any factory 1966 GTO.
ENGINEERED FOR THE ROAD
Power comes from a documented 467ci Pontiac Stroker — strong, responsive, and beautifully tuned. Backing it is the highly sought-after Tremec TKX 5-speed, chosen for its smooth shifting and exceptional highway gearing. At 70 mph, the car cruises at just 2100 RPM, a dramatic improvement over the original Muncie 4-speed.
A Quik Performance 9-inch rear with 3.50 gears helps put the power down, while the chassis benefits from Ridetech springs, upgraded swaybars, boxed trailing arms, power steering, and 4-wheel power disc brakes. Additional performance details include Doug’s ceramic-coated headers, HEI ignition, aluminum radiator, and Pypes dual exhaust for a deep, clean tone.
DETAILS THAT MATTER
The GTO rides on 15x8 Rally wheels with a 4” backset, giving it a classic stance. In the trunk, the owner includes two additional 15x8 Rally wheels with a 4½” backset, intended for buyers who want to run wider rear tires — a thoughtful bonus for both show and performance tuning.
Inside, the cabin blends vintage design with subtle upgrades: a tilt steering column, Bluetooth stereo, and clean wiring throughout courtesy of American Autowire. The car comes with a clean title and full documentation, including engine build specs and records of the parts used during the restoration.
