Carolina Muscle Cars, INC. is proud to present this highly original 1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mk I. Developed with engineering input from Carroll Shelby, the Sunbeam Tiger has become one of the most sought-after performance cars of the 1960s.
Powered by a Rebuilt 289 V8 engine paired to a 4-speed manual transmission, this Tiger offers the lightweight, raw performance that made these cars famous worldwide. With its compact dimensions, aggressive V8 sound, and excellent power-to-weight ratio, the Tiger delivers an incredibly enjoyable and spirited driving experience. Mechanically, this Tiger starts with ease, runs strong, and performs exactly as a proper Tiger should. In addition the previous owner had the 289 rebuilt, while that was getting rebuilt he went ahead and rebuilt the transmission and the rear end to ensure this vehicle is ready to be enjoyed.
The exterior of this Tiger presents well in the correct embassy black paint. The paint on this vehicle is driver quality with some signs of wear, but has excellent shine. Accenting the exterior are chrome bumpers, LAT 70-style alloy wheels, and dual exhaust that give the car an aggressive yet elegant appearance. This example also features both a removable black hardtop and a black soft top, making it equally enjoyable for top-down cruising or enclosed touring. The overall appearance is classic, sporty, and unmistakably iconic.
Open the door and you are greeted by a beautiful black interior that perfectly complements the sleek exterior finish. The cabin retains the vintage British sports car charm that enthusiasts love while featuring tasteful upgrades and excellent presentation throughout. Jaeger instrumentation, a Hurst shifter, and classic bucket seats create an authentic period-correct driving environment that immediately transports you back to the golden era of sports cars.
Under the hood sits the Ford 289 V8 engine housed within a highly detailed engine bay. Additional features include an aluminum radiator for improved cooling and reliability. The engine compartment is clean and well presented, while underneath you will find a very solid and clean underside that reflects the care this Tiger has received throughout its life.
The Sunbeam Tiger has long been considered one of the most collectible British sports cars ever produced, with only approximately 7,000 examples built between 1964 and 1967. Whether you are a seasoned collector, vintage racing enthusiast, or someone looking for an investment-grade classic that is equally exciting to drive, this 1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mk I is an outstanding opportunity.
