INTRODUCTION: Oh my God, is this Corvette a knockout! According to the trim tag, it was born in the stunning Tuxedo Black with red interior combination, and it looks absolutely sensational. Recently upgraded with Vintage Air for added comfort, this '65 has the looks to turn heads like no other!
EXTERIOR: The coupe is highly coveted among C2 Corvettes, not only were fewer produced than convertibles, but that fastback roofline showcases some of the most beautiful body lines ever put on a Corvette. Finished in Tuxedo Black with a deep, high-gloss shine, this one takes those lines to another level. The body is very nice, straight and fits exceptionally well, and the headlights open and close properly. The paint has a mirror like reflection, although there may be minor imperfections if you look for them. It appears the chrome and trim have been replaced, the window moldings are polished, and the cross-flag emblems sparkle. It has the correct power antenna and bowtie mirror, and the windshield has been replaced. Polished knockoff wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich radial redline tires give it an outstanding stance. And as good as those side pipes look, they sound even better when you're shifting through the gears!
INTERIOR: Open the door and bam- that red interior hits you! Against the Tuxedo Black exterior, the contrast is absolutely stunning. It's also exceptionally tidy, with fresh red carpet from front to back, a fresh headliner, new visors and mirror, and a working dome light. The seats have been re-cushioned and reupholstered, including new seat backs. The entire dash area is beautifully detailed with restored gauges, including the correct 6,500-rpm redline tachometer for the 350 horsepower motor. It retains the factory AM-FM radio with modern internal upgrades, reproduction bowtie seat belts and a reproduction deluxe steering wheel. The correct reverse lockout shifter is in place, and the door panels have been replaced along with the handles and window cranks.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a date code correct L79 327 producing 350 horsepower. It is dressed properly with the correct aluminum intake, proper carburetor with fuel filter and choke tube, finned aluminum Corvette valve covers and reproduction air cleaner. The factory style ignition shielding is complete, and all of the components look clean and proper. It runs cool with a correctly dated, rebuilt radiator and expansion tank. Keeping the passengers cool is a neatly installed Vintage Air system, adding modern comfort without taking away from the authentic presentation of this engine compartment.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath is exceptionally clean. The first thing I noticed were the raw fiberglass floors, which present beautifully and are complemented by the correct fiberglass spare tire carrier. The chassis is solid and neatly painted black. It features independent suspension front and rear, which has been rebuilt and recently inspected by our shop. 1965 was the first year for disc brakes on a Corvette and it has it at all 4 wheels. Looking up at the motor, it is clean Chevy orange with the proper starter. It retains an M20 Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, which sends the power back to a correctly dated 3.36 Positraction rear end. Overall, the underside is exceptionally clean, solid and properly presented.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale.
CONCLUSION: Just look at it. I really don't need to say anything more, this one speaks for itself! If you compare it to another one, ask yourself which one you like better. I know the answer!
