"1964 Plymouth Fury Hardtop – 426ci Max Wedge 4x2 ""Cross Ram"" Super Stock II
Up for consideration is a highly detailed 1964 Plymouth Fury Hardtop equipped with the legendary 426ci Max Wedge 4x2 ""Cross Ram"" Super Stock II engine. This example merges showroom-level aesthetics with serious drag-capable performance, offering an authentic period-correct muscle car experience.
POWERTRAIN & PERFORMANCE:
The Fury is powered by a 426ci Max Wedge V8 fitted with dual Edelbrock 1405 carbs and Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, delivering a potent, high-revving street-and-strip character. Power is sent to the rear wheels through Chrysler's TorqueFlite 727 push-button automatic transmission. The driveline is anchored by a Moser rear axle, MOPAR Performance shocks, and leaf springs, providing both stability and period-correct handling. A manual disc brake setup up front, paired with rear drums and a dual brake master cylinder, ensures controlled stopping power.
EXTERIOR & BODY:
Finished in a striking Ruby red, the Fury presents a show-quality exterior with excellent chrome and brightwork. All lighting, lenses, and bezels are in pristine condition, complementing the car's vivid paint. Billet Specialties Street Lite wheels shod with M/T front tires and Hoosier drag slicks hint at its performance-oriented nature, while maintaining classic proportions.
INTERIOR:
Inside, the cabin features a split bench/bucket configuration upholstered in new factory-correct red cloth and vinyl courtesy of Legendary Interiors. Race-Quip lap belts, an AutoMeter tachometer, and auxiliary gauges support a driver-focused cockpit. The battery has been discreetly relocated to the trunk, and a quick-shutoff switch is installed through the bumper for safety. The car comes with a radio delete, emphasizing its performance-first ethos.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Factory MOPAR-style radiator
Power steering
Quick-shutoff in bumper bolt hole
Ready for show, cruise, or competition
This Fury represents one of the most desirable factory Max Wedge configurations, blending historical accuracy, visual appeal, and performance upgrades in a turn-key package. Whether you're seeking a standout collector's piece or a dragstrip-ready classic, this 1964 Plymouth Fury delivers a rare combination of pedigree and presentation.

At Art & Speed, we believe that automobiles are more than just transportation. They are part of the "thrill ride" of life!
Maybe it was the car that carried you and that special person on your first date; or brought home your newborn baby. Perhaps a certain car brought father and son together in a project that created cherished memories through frustration, laughter and proud accomplishments. Maybe it was the object that created freedom and exhilaration from the growl of the big block engine, the smell of the interior and the fuel, the feeling of being one with the road. Perhaps it's all about the first time you saw your favorite car with it's sleek lines, wild colors, bold graphics, or elegant sense of beauty and artful design. The wind in your face and hair… The sensation of speed… And remember the family vacations? And, of course, none of us ever had our picture taken with our cars, right?
As adults, we have a passion for the "vehicles of our lives," the stories that they remind us of, the music that we hear when we see certain automobiles. Indeed, automobiles are woven into the tapestry of our lives, reminding us of simpler pleasures.
At Art & Speed, our goal is to help you relive those experiences and create new ones. Founded by Kevin Caffman and Barry Gilmore, Art & Speed delivers the vehicles, memorabilia and special events that strike passion, revive old memories, and allow us to share those events with our family and friends. And most importantly, Art & Speed will help you make new memories!

Kevin has been a "car guy" since he was old enough to peer out the car windows, identifying every car by year, make and model. Over the years, he has built a reputation for building, owning and selling high quality collector cars. With a background in business, information technology and digital marketing, he has continued to pursue the art of classic automobiles as a hobby. After a successful career in the corporate world, Kevin decided to pursue his dream of owning and building a "different kind of business". Kevin sees vintage, classic and performance cars as an emotional interaction, merging the worlds of performance with the art of the automobile. Thus the vision for Art & Speed was born!
