As part of Mercury's full-size lineup, the Monterey combined substantial proportions, bright exterior trim, and distinctive early-1960s styling.
Under the hood is a 390 CID FE-series V8 paired with an automatic transmission. The 390 was a factory engine offering for the 1964 Monterey, and Mercury offered several versions of the engine that year.
