INTRODUCTION: This one stands apart from the others with its stunning colors, knockoff wheels, and the highly desirable coupe body style! What makes it even more special is the rare list of factory options, including air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and power windows, making this not only an investment, but also one you'll truly enjoy driving!
EXTERIOR: With its sleek roofline and dramatic boattail rear end, the coupe has a look that is both elegant and aggressive. Chevrolet actually produced fewer coupes than convertibles and they are the more sought after body style because of that iconic design. This one especially is a real head turner. The body was repainted in beautiful Daytona Blue, and the results are stunning. The fine metallic is laid out evenly throughout, and the finish has been polished to a smooth, glossy shine that really highlights the Corvette's sculpted body lines. The body appears straight with no damage or problem areas, and the fit of the panels is impressive throughout, including the doors fitting nicely into the roof. The headlights fit properly and open and close as they should. The chrome and emblems are bright and straight, it includes the correct antenna, dual bowtie mirrors and optional reverse lights. All of the glass has been replaced as well. The icing on the cake is the new knock off wheels, they look amazing on this car!
INTERIOR: It is exceptional, finished in the same beautiful dark blue as the exterior. The seats have been rebuilt with new cushions and upholstered in glove soft leather, including the center armrest. It features fresh carpet from front to back, and desirable factory options include power windows and an AM/FM radio. The entire dash area is excellent, including the dash pads, a new glovebox door and liner, and a full set of factory gauges. Even the clock is functioning properly. It also retains its original bowtie seat belts. A stereo system has been installed in the rear compartment and is operated by a remote control. The car itself was not modified, only the compartment lid was altered, and it can easily be replaced if the next owner wishes to return the car to its original configuration.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There's a lot to like under this hood! Power comes from a period correct 327 producing 300 horsepower, equipped with the highly desirable combination of factory air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. The engine compartment is clean, well detailed, and presents with a factory correct appearance. It features the correct manifolds, finned valve covers, ignition shielding, and other proper components throughout. Even the original date coded radiator has been professionally rebuilt, and the factory air conditioning has been serviced and is blowing cold.
UNDERSIDE: The underside is clean, authentic, and well detailed. This was only the second year Corvette featured independent suspension at all four wheels, and it appears to have been thoroughly gone through. It has been upgraded with Bilstein gas shocks, the brakes are functioning properly, and the emergency brake assembly is complete and hooked up. A factory correct exhaust system is in place, including the polished stainless tips exiting through the rear valance. Looking up at the engine, it's clean and properly finished in Chevy Orange with the correct starter and canister style oil filter. Power is transferred through the Powerglide automatic transmission to the 3.36 positraction rear end. The frame and chassis components are clean and painted black. It's especially nice to see the raw fiberglass floors, which appear to be in outstanding original condition and have not been painted over like so many others. It also retains the complete spare tire carrier.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale.
CONCLUSION: Only an estimated 700–800 Corvette coupes were built with factory air conditioning in 1964. How many have survived, and how many remain equipped with this many desirable factory options? The answer is very few. This Corvette combines rarity, beautiful colors, exceptional presentation, and sought after features into one very special package. Even better, it's a Corvette you can truly enjoy. With all the options it's comfortable, easy to drive, and just as enjoyable on a weekend cruise as it is at a car show.
