Off the road since 1978, this 1963 Maserati 3500GTi has patiently awaited the restoration it deserves. Finished in silver with a blue leather interior, it represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of Maserati's most desirable grand touring cars. Though it's not currently running, a significant investment has already been made in the car, with approximately $30,000 spent on an engine rebuild. Even more importantly, this example retains its original Lucas mechanical fuel injection systema rare and highly desirable feature, as many 3500GTis were later converted to carburetors. Produced between 1961 and 1964, only 441 Maserati 3500GTi models were built, making these fuel-injected cars among the rarest and most sought-after versions of the 3500 GT.
Introduced in 1957 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Maserati 3500 GT marked the company's successful transition into series production. Designed as a high-performance grand tourer that combined speed, comfort, and everyday usability, it featured elegant coachwork by Touring of Milan, constructed using the lightweight Superleggera method. The fuel-injected GTi debuted in 1962, offering improved performance and refinement through its Lucas mechanical injection system.
