1963 Chevrolet Corvette In 1963, following the popularity of the C1 Corvette, the C2 series was introduced and it was time for a total redesign. Inspiration was drawn from the 1957 Q Corvette and Bill Mitchell's racing Sting Ray. It was quite a unique look and this was the 1st generation to wear the "Sting Ray" name that clearly influenced the design which incorporated long wedge like nose with peaked fenders. This 1963 Vette is among the early examples of the C2 and is the roadster body style. It was fully frame off restored in 2021 and has been driven approximately 200 miles since then. Everything was redone on the car including the paint that is its correct 923 code Riverside Red. That is then paired with a Black convertible top that was redone as well. The split chrome bumpers on it look great as does the other trim pieces. The lights all work properly and headlights open as they should. The glass is good throughout with no scratches or chips. The knock off style hubcaps on the car look great and the P205/75R15 thin white wall tires are a nice vintage touch. Lift forward the hood and you will find the 327ci 340hp motor (NOTE: in photographs the hood is released and when latched aligns properly). It is not the numbers matching motor but would have been the motor the car came with. It runs strong and features Corvette valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. It is a blast to drive with a 4 speed transmission and sounds great through the dual exhaust that is routed through the rear valance. It has power brakes and mechanically the car all functions properly. Trim tag I4 - 4th week of May 63 - Year 867 - Convertible BLK - Black Vinyl 923 - Riverside Red The interior has been redone in its original Black color and the seats, carpet, and door panels along with their hardware are all in great condition. You will note that some components like the seat belt fasteners and sill plates are covered with tape to keep their finish looking like new. Between the bucket seats is the original console that houses the manual shifter. The console mates up to the dash where you will find the factory AM-FM radio and clock. In front of the driver sits the original 3 spoke wheel and all of the gauges including the tachometer. These C2's are always a collectable classic and that doesn't show any sign of changing soon. They are an iconic classic and this one is a great example that is ready to drive and enjoy. This beautiful Corvette could be yours for $68,500.00!
