"There isn't another truck like it! The driver is upfront, the engine is in the rear and in between is 1,900 lb capacity cargo space. Unique features include a side ramp, independent suspension front and back, an air-cooled efficient engine and a 1,900 lb cargo capacity. This one is from a collector and has had a detailed ground up restoration. it is a fun vehicle because it is so different, it attracts attention and conversation wherever it goes!
EXTERIOR: Absolutely beautiful! The Blue Metallic paint has been applied with great attention to detail and brought to a smooth and shiny finish. I could easily shave and its reflection. It has a painted silver side stripe that nicely compliments the interior. All the glass, rubber seals and fuzzy strips were replaced. The front grill and chrome bumpers have been refurbished like new. The passenger side utility ramp is a unique and practical option. It's sitting on 14"" American racing Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in like new radial tires.
INTERIOR: Cozy and cool! Being seated in front of the axle provides a very fun and unique driving experience! Inside the door jambs are painted the same color as the body. New weather stripping was installed. All the exposed metal on the door panels and dash was neatly painted Blue Metallic with some silver accents. A Retrosound radio with Bluetooth capabilities was mounted in the factory hole. The headliner is original. The seat has been reupholstered in genuine soft leather and has dual lap belts. The sun visors, rearview mirror and carpeting have all been replaced. There is a brand new spare tire mounted behind the seat.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Totally restored! The air cooled 145 cubic inch flat 6 cylinder engine has been completely rebuilt and given about 30 extra horsepower. It starts easily and runs fantastic. New fuel pump. The back side of the access panel is painted the same color as the body.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: How convenient, the ramp side opens so you can walk right in. You can dolly heavy items right up the ramp! It also has a tailgate in back for more easy access. The inside of the box is clean, straight metal that has been sprayed with Rhino Lining making it very durable and usable. The screws were even replaced for a fresh look. Completely undercoated! The battery is located in a compartment on the driver side rear floor and has an access panel.
UNDERSIDE: A utilitarian undercarriage that has been freshened up and maintained as needed. Looking up at the 145 cubic inch boxer motor it is nice and clean with neatly applied paint. The transmission was gone through, clutch was replaced. The suspension and brakes were rebuilt. The front end was recently aligned. The exhaust was replaced. The floors are solid and rust free with a thin undercoating.
SERVICE: Our lead mechanic completed a thorough inspection on this truck, and it passed with flying colors! It was very dialed in when we purchased it!
This truck is about fun! Even amongst all the high-end vehicles we have people are loving this one from the guys in the shop to the people in our showrooms and even my father who has owned some of the best cars on the planet! It has appeal and a uniqueness that provokes conversations. The Rampside is considered a rare and collectable vehicle today and this is one of the best there is. This one with such a detailed restoration truly stands out. It's distinct design and limited production numbers of only 4,102 units make it a sought after model among classic car collectors.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
