SOME CARS ARE BUILT TO BE DRIVEN. SOME ARE BUILT TO BE SHOWN. AND THEN THERE ARE THOSE VERY SPECIAL CARS THAT ARE BUILT TO ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE EVERYTHING AROUND THEM! Ladies and gentlemen, what you are looking at is not simply another restored 1961 Chevrolet Impala. This is an extraordinary, no-expense-spared, custom-built, TWIN-TURBO 509 BIG BLOCK BUBBLETOP that combines one of the most desirable Chevrolet body styles ever produced with an absolutely outrageous level of engineering, horsepower, craftsmanship, and attention to detail! This is the kind of automobile that stops people in their tracks, attracts a crowd wherever it goes, and makes even the most seasoned collector or horsepower enthusiast take a second look. From its incredible Metallic Blue and Satin Black exterior to its gorgeous custom Black leather interior and its monstrous twin-turbocharged big block engine, virtually every aspect of this Impala was designed to deliver an experience unlike anything else on the road! Let's face it: a 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop is already a very special automobile. The dramatic roofline, expansive glass, long and low profile, beautiful stainless trim, and unmistakable early-1960s Chevrolet styling make these cars highly sought after by collectors around the world. Finding a great example is one thing. Finding one that has undergone a four-year, six-figure custom transformation into an incredibly engineered, 746 REAR-WHEEL-HORSEPOWER street machine is something entirely different! And here's the part that makes this car almost unbelievable: 746 HORSEPOWER AT THE REAR WHEELS ON ITS STREET TUNE, RUNNING PUMP GAS AND ONLY 13 POUNDS OF BOOST! According to the build information and previous tuning, this engine has the potential to produce approximately 2,200 horsepower at the crank with the appropriate race-fuel calibration, upgraded fuel pump, and supporting setup! That's right! We are talking about a beautifully finished 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop with the heart and potential of a serious race car, wrapped in one of the most iconic American automotive designs ever created! This is not a typical engine-swapped classic. This is a thoughtfully engineered, professionally fabricated, meticulously detailed automobile that represents an enormous investment of time, money, and passion! THE BODY & PAINT AN ABSOLUTE WORK OF ART! The first thing that grabs your attention is the incredible exterior presentation. Finished in a spectacular Metallic Blue with custom Satin Black inserts, this Impala wears an exceptionally attractive combination of classic Chevrolet styling and aggressive modern custom touches. The extensive body restoration reportedly took place over approximately four years as part of this extraordinary build. The body was stripped to bare metal, carefully repaired where necessary, and painstakingly worked to achieve beautiful panel alignment and an impressively smooth, straight appearance. Once the bodywork was completed, the car was refinished using premium Standox urethane basecoat and clearcoat materials. Multiple stages of blocking, sanding, and polishing helped create the deep, reflective finish that makes this incredible Impala such a standout. The Metallic Blue paint is absolutely striking, beautifully contrasted by the Satin Black hood and side inserts. The combination creates an aggressive yet sophisticated appearance that perfectly complements the Bubbletop's low-slung body lines. Extensive shaving and custom bodywork eliminate unnecessary distractions, allowing the beautiful factory design to speak for itself. The factory-style polished side trim provides just the right amount of classic 1960s elegance, while the custom hood latches, sleek profile, and extraordinary stance make it immediately clear that this is no ordinary Impala! Up front, the beautiful chrome grille, traditional Chevrolet emblem, and classic three-piece bumper retain the car's distinctive heritage. The dramatic hood treatment and custom accents hint at the enormous horsepower lurking underneath. From the side, the legendary Bubbletop roofline is simply breathtaking. The expansive glass, bright stainless window trim, long quarter panels, and sweeping body lines represent an era when automotive design was truly an art form. At the rear, the classic Impala styling and custom stance complete a package that looks just as impressive sitting still as it does cruising down the road. This is the kind of paint and bodywork that demands attention at a major automotive event, and the kind of car that will have people asking questions long after you park it! THE ENGINE TWIN-TURBOCHARGED 509 CUBIC INCHES OF PURE INSANITY! Now let's get to the heart of this incredible machine, because this is where things get REALLY interesting! Under the hood is an absolutely monstrous, professionally built, 509 cubic-inch big block V8 based on a Dart Big M engine block. This is not an ordinary production big block with a couple of turbochargers bolted on. This is a purpose-built, high-performance engine assembled with serious components and engineered to withstand tremendous horsepower! The Dart Big M block features a 9.8-inch deck height, 4.5-inch bore, and heavy-duty four-bolt billet main caps. Inside, the engine is equipped with an Ohio billet 4-inch-stroke crankshaft, Oliver billet connecting rods, and Diamond forged aluminum pistons specifically designed for forced-induction applications. Supporting this incredible rotating assembly are premium King bearings, ARP hardware, a Melling high-volume anti-cavitation oil pump, and a Milodon seven-quart oil pan with a windage tray and pickup. The valvetrain features a custom Competition Cams turbo camshaft, Crower HIPPO solid roller lifters, Smith Brothers heavy-duty pushrods, Competition Cams 1.7-ratio rocker arms, and a Cloyes billet double-roller timing set. Additional premium equipment includes an ATI Super Damper harmonic balancer, billet aluminum timing cover, fabricated aluminum valve covers, and ARP head studs. Feeding this monster is a hand-ported Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT electronic fuel-injection intake manifold supported by large 120-pound Trick Flow fuel injectors and a sophisticated FAST XFI 2.0 engine-management system. Ignition duties are handled through an MSD digital coil-pack system, providing the capability and control required for this level of high-performance engineering. And then come the TURBOS! A pair of massive 67mm Precision turbochargers feed this incredible 509 cubic-inch V8, delivering the kind of forced induction that transforms an already formidable big block into an absolute powerhouse. The level of workmanship, fabrication, and detail under the hood is extraordinary. This is the kind of engine compartment that automotive enthusiasts can admire for hours, studying the engineering, plumbing, turbocharger placement, custom fabrication, and sheer mechanical presence of this incredible powerplant! 746 REAR-WHEEL HORSEPOWER – AND THAT'S JUST THE STREET TUNE! Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this build is that the current street configuration is just a fraction of the engine's reported ultimate potential! According to the supplied build and tuning information, this Impala was dyno-tested at an incredible 746 HORSEPOWER AT THE REAR WHEELS ON PUMP GAS WITH ONLY 13 PSI OF BOOST! Think about that for a moment. This is a 1961 Chevrolet Impala with more than 700 horsepower delivered to the rear tires while running a street-oriented calibration! The engine has also reportedly been evaluated with a more aggressive race-fuel calibration, with the build information indicating approximately 1,500 rear-wheel horsepower capability in that configuration. With an upgraded fuel pump, appropriate race fuel, increased boost, and proper supporting calibration, the engine builder and previous tuning information indicate potential for approximately 2,200 horsepower at the crankshaft. Those upper horsepower figures represent reported potential rather than a verified current output, and achieving them would require the appropriate supporting modifications and professional tuning. The previous owner wisely chose not to push the engine to its absolute limits during dyno testing. With such an enormous investment in premium engine components, protecting the engine and maintaining reliability were important considerations. The car is presently described as being configured with its street tune for pump gasoline, making its already incredible performance much more practical to enjoy. And believe us, with 746 horsepower at the rear wheels, this car already delivers performance that most enthusiasts can only dream about! CUSTOM McCOY RACE CAR CHASSIS – SERIOUS ENGINEERING UNDERNEATH! Of course, building a car with this much horsepower requires much more than a powerful engine. The chassis, suspension, transmission, rear axle, and braking system must all be engineered to handle the tremendous performance. That's precisely why this Impala received extensive chassis fabrication by McCoy Race Car Chassis in Washington, Missouri. The original Chevrolet X-frame was substantially modified and reinforced to support the increased performance demands of this extraordinary build. The front frame section was removed and replaced with custom-fabricated tubular chassis components, incorporating an upgraded front suspension with tubular upper and lower control arms. A rack-and-pinion steering system was installed to provide modern steering characteristics and improved control. Additional structural reinforcement was incorporated along the outer portions of the original X-frame, extending into the inner rocker-panel areas to increase chassis rigidity and strength. This is far beyond a typical suspension upgrade. The chassis modifications represent substantial custom fabrication designed to support the performance demands of the big block twin-turbo drivetrain. The stance is low, aggressive, and beautifully proportioned, giving the car that unmistakable high-end Pro-Street appearance without sacrificing the gorgeous lines that make a 1961 Impala Bubbletop so desirable. BUILT 4L80E AUTOMATIC – CUSTOM REAR END – POSITRACTION! Transferring all that tremendous horsepower to the pavement is a heavily built 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission. Known for its strength and ability to handle significant horsepower when properly upgraded, the 4L80E is an excellent choice for an extreme-performance street machine like this one. The transmission is connected through a custom shortened driveshaft to a fabricated heavy-duty rear axle housing featuring a Ford 9-inch-style center section, Positraction differential, and reported 3.73 rear gearing. This combination provides the heavy-duty drivetrain foundation necessary for a high-horsepower, twin-turbocharged big block. Out back, the car features massive 345-series Mickey Thompson rear tires that fill the wheel openings and give this already aggressive Impala an unmistakable performance-oriented appearance. The entire drivetrain was selected with serious performance in mind, not simply for looks. CUSTOM SUSPENSION & FOUR-WHEEL DISC BRAKES! With tremendous horsepower comes the need for serious stopping power, and this Impala has been upgraded accordingly. Four-wheel disc brakes featuring drilled and slotted rotors provide substantially improved braking capability compared with the original 1961 braking system. The upgraded tubular front suspension, custom chassis components, and rack-and-pinion steering work together to create a much more modern driving experience while maintaining the unmistakable character of this vintage Chevrolet. The extensive fabrication underneath is another reminder that this build was engineered as a complete package rather than simply adding horsepower to an otherwise stock automobile. CUSTOM SCHOTT WHEELS THE PERFECT FINISHING TOUCH! No high-end custom build is complete without the right wheel and tire combination, and this Impala absolutely delivers! The car rides on a set of special-ordered Schott wheels that perfectly complement the Metallic Blue paint, Satin Black accents, and incredible stance. These are not ordinary off-the-shelf wheels. They were specifically ordered for the vehicle, contributing to the carefully designed appearance of this beautiful custom build. Combined with the enormous rear Mickey Thompson tires, the wheels give this Impala the perfect balance of elegance, attitude, and serious high-performance capability. The proportions are exceptional, with the low roofline, long body, custom wheels, and wide rear tires creating a truly unforgettable profile. CUSTOM BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR LUXURY MEETS RACE-CAR PERFORMANCE! Open the door and you'll quickly discover that the interior received the same level of attention as the exterior and mechanical components. The cabin has been extensively customized with beautiful Black heavy-grain leather upholstery, creating a rich, upscale atmosphere that perfectly complements the car's aggressive exterior. The beautifully upholstered seating combines the classic proportions of the original Impala interior with a refined custom appearance. Matching door panels, sculpted interior trim, and detailed upholstery work create a cohesive, professionally finished cabin. The custom dashboard incorporates the additional instrumentation required to monitor this incredibly powerful twin-turbocharged engine. Keeping track of engine operation, boost, and other critical information is an important part of operating a machine with this level of performance. A custom center console provides additional convenience and includes thoughtfully integrated cup holders, adding a practical touch to this extreme-performance automobile. The car is also equipped with an Ididit tilt steering column and a stylish MOMO steering wheel, giving the driver comfortable control while maintaining the sporting character of the build. One of the most impressive features inside the cabin is the integrated eight-point roll cage, carefully positioned to provide important structural and safety-related reinforcement without completely overwhelming the beautiful custom interior. The Black carpeting, matching interior panels, and classic-inspired headliner help preserve the feeling of a sophisticated custom street machine rather than a stripped-out race car. Even the rear seating area has been thoughtfully incorporated into the design, maintaining the appearance and character of the original Impala layout. And as for a radio? With the incredible soundtrack produced by a 509 cubic-inch twin-turbocharged big block, who needs one? This car offers an intoxicating combination of vintage Chevrolet styling, custom craftsmanship, and serious performance engineering! CUSTOM THREE-INCH EXHAUST AN UNMISTAKABLE SOUND! The exhaust system is another example of the craftsmanship invested in this build. A custom-fabricated three-inch exhaust system carries spent gases through carefully routed piping and performance-oriented turbo mufflers. The fabrication is tucked neatly underneath the body, maintaining a clean appearance while accommodating the performance demands of the massive twin-turbo big block. The resulting exhaust note delivers the deep, aggressive character expected from a serious high-performance Chevrolet, reminding everyone within earshot that this beautiful Bubbletop is hiding something very special under the hood! A FOUR-YEAR, SIX-FIGURE BUILD THAT WOULD BE INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO DUPLICATE! One of the most important things to understand about a vehicle like this is the tremendous investment required to create it. The reported restoration and custom build took approximately four years to complete, involving extensive bodywork, premium paint materials, custom chassis fabrication, specialized suspension, an extraordinary engine combination, custom electronics, a built drivetrain, special-order wheels, and a beautifully crafted leather interior. The cost of building something of this caliber today would be staggering. Consider the expense of a professionally assembled Dart Big M twin-turbo 509, premium billet and forged engine internals, twin Precision turbochargers, FAST electronic engine management, extensive race-chassis fabrication, a heavily built 4L80E transmission, custom rear axle, premium paintwork, and a complete custom leather interior. Then factor in hundreds of hours of skilled labor, fabrication, fitting, engineering, assembly, and final detailing. It's easy to understand why builds like this require six-figure investments and why finding a finished, exceptionally executed example represents such a special opportunity. Most enthusiasts will never undertake a project this extensive, and even fewer will have the opportunity to own one once completed. AN ICONIC 1961 BUBBLETOP WITH MODERN SUPERCAR-LEVEL POWER! What makes this car truly extraordinary is the combination of two completely different automotive worlds. On one hand, you have the timeless design of the 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop, a car cherished for its sweeping roofline, beautiful proportions, abundant chrome, and unmistakable American character. On the other hand, you have a technologically sophisticated, twin-turbocharged, electronically fuel-injected 509 cubic-inch V8 capable of delivering mind-blowing performance. Add an extensively modified race-inspired chassis, custom suspension, a built four-speed automatic transmission, modern braking components, beautiful custom leather upholstery, and a spectacular paint finish, and the result is something almost impossible to duplicate. This isn't just a classic Chevrolet with a big engine. It is a rolling piece of automotive art, a tribute to American horsepower, and an extraordinary example of what can happen when imagination, engineering, craftsmanship, and passion come together without compromise. Past & Present Motor Cars was founded in June of 2018 by Jack and Jeff and began in 2 small warehouses in Ocala and Winter Garden, Florida. After seeing the business have steady growth in the first year and a half in March 2020 we moved our Main Location in Winter Garden to a new location that at the time seemed huge. We were a little nervous to take on this larger building and higher rent but we knew we had to THINK BIG. After getting moved in, that was the start of Covid. Just after getting settled in we put signs on the door saying we were only open by appointment. While it was a tough time in the world it actually was a good time to be in the car business especially the classic car business and we continued to see steady growth. After 2 1/2 years in that location we proceeded to acquire 4 buildings and lease a 5th building. This allowed for the operation we have today with 150+ Classic Cars and a Service Department. We are still doing the same thing we have done everyday since we opened, Great Customer Service, Owners that are Available and Accessible for our customers and very happy to talk cars anytime anywhere. We will never grow too big to be real with anyone! Keeping our commitment to our customers through straightforward business and ALWAYS doing the right thing! We are the same people with the same commitment as the day we opened and our slogan is and remains:
