"Details About Our Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz for sale:
Available now at the St. Louis Car Museum is a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible finished in Olympic White (originally Lucerne Blue) with a Black/White two-tone interior (originally Blue) and white convertible roof. This timeless, classic Cadillac is powered by a date-code correct 390ci-3x2bbl V8 producing a factory rated 345hp mated with a Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission. Features and optional equipment include factory air conditioning, 8-way power driver seat, Guide-Matic automatic headlight dimmer, power windows, vent glass, & locks; factory standard power steering & brakes, heat/defrost, dual outside rearview mirrors, cruise control, electric trunk release, rear fender skirts, chrome 15"" Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels & Coker Classic wide whitewall radial tires, E-Z-Eye tinted glass, AM radio, windshield washer, and parade boot covers!
This 50s Cadillac spent much of its life in collections between the Scottsdale, AZ, and Dallas/Houston area and has a well-known history dating back to approximately 1996 when this car had already been cosmetically restored with new interior and exterior color appointments. Most recently, this beauty was parked in the Horton Classic Car Museum Collection based in Nocona, TX from 2013-2023 alongside an amassed collection of wonderful luxury, muscle, and sportscars exceeding over 200 vehicles! This collection would sell in near entirety with this Cadillac Biarritz making its way to the Carolina Classic Cars collection in Zebulon, NC. It would arrive at St. Louis Car Museum & Sales in June 2024.
Upon arrival, we elected to replace a few aging components along with a complete tune-up and air conditioning service. This included new engine & transmission mounts, steering coupler and idler arm, rear pinon seal, rear trailing arm bushings, and differential ball joint. The driveshaft u-joints were replaced and new differential gear oil in the axle. The engine received new oil and filter, complete tri-carburetion overhaul, new fuel filter, valve cover gaskets, new air filter, new air conditioning compressor with recharge of modern R134a, and fresh distributor cap/rotor, spark plugs/wire set. The brakes were also completely freshened with 4 new drums, a rebuilt master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, hoses, and rear shoes as well as fresh brake fluid and bleeding of the complete system.
It shows only 64,998 miles on the odometer, although we don't have enough documentation to support any true mileage claims. We do know it was driven very sparingly over the last 25 years or so, making our mechanical contributions worthy for the new owner to drive it with added confidence! History About Cadillac's 1960 Eldorado Biarritz:
One can only imagine the pressure Cadillac's design team felt after the Eldorado debuted to the public in 1959. Although considered one of the most desired cars among Cadillac collectors today, the 1959 model was an extremely extravagant design for car buyers during the day. Its wild charisma and huge rear fins weren't for everyone and may have turned a few longtime Cadillac devotees away from showrooms. The answer in 1960 was a milder, slightly more subdued design to woe traditional buyers back. They could not have been timelier in that decision, and produced another outstanding vehicle with timeless body lines! It would also mark the final year of the Eldorado Seville Hardtop Coupe, tri-carburetion engines, and air ride suspension. The top-of-the-line Eldorado models continue to be one of the most desirable Cadillacs to own today! Only 1,285 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertibles would find showrooms in 1960, making them solid blue-chip investments still today! Contact Jon Faust at (314)993-1330 to schedule a test drive.
