"This 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible is a beautifully restored, Forward Look wing car with fantastic options! The Plymouth Belvedere first appeared in 1954 as the brand's new top-of-the-line offering, replacing the Cranbrook and quickly becoming a standout in Chrysler's lineup. Just a few years later, during an industry-wide downturn, the 1958 Belvedere emerged with a completely refreshed appearance, shaped by Virgil Exner's celebrated ""Forward Look"" design language. Under this bold styling direction, Chrysler vehicles adopted futuristic, jet-inspired lines and a more aerodynamic profile-features that defined the Belvedere's striking presence. The 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible showcased these design cues brilliantly, from its dramatic front fascia to its sweeping side trim that flowed seamlessly into the prominent tailfins, referred to at the time as ""Directional Stabilizers."" These details gave the car a distinctly modern look that perfectly captured late-1950s automotive style. Adding to its rarity and desirability, the Belvedere Convertible was the only open-air model offered by Plymouth in 1958, with convertibles making up less than 7% of total Belvedere production that year. Today, the 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible stands as a highly sought-after example of Exner's Forward Look era-an icon of mid-century American design and a true collectible classic. This particular '58 Belvedere Convertible comes to us from a fantastic caretaker who owned the car for over 25 years. Powering this 1958 Belvedere is a ""Power Pack"" 318 cubic inch V8 topped by a single 4 barrel carburetor that together were said to have produced 250 horsepower when new. The 318 V8 is mated to a PowerFlite Automatic Transmission that is shifted via the iconic, futuristic Mopar push-button shifter. Exhaust exits this Belvedere's powerplant via a dual exhaust setup that generates a terrific throaty sound out of the rear tailpipes. This 1958 Plymouth comes loaded with fantastic options! With power steering, squeezing in and out of a tight parking space at the local car show is super easy, and the overall driving experience is much improved. Further aiding with tricky parking situations, along with lane changes, are a pair of chrome outside mirrors that allow you to more easily see alongside this Belvedere. Power brakes are another welcome addition on this classic Plymouth Convertible since it greatly reduces the effort required to bring this Belvedere to a complete stop. The white vinyl power convertible top is in fantastic condition, going up and down with ease with the flip of a switch. And, when the top is in the lowered position, it tucks neatly below a matching white vinyl boot. Riding on a set of wide whitewall tires mounted on steel wheels and accented with full wheelcovers, this 1958 Belvedere Convertible has an outstanding look whether parked, or cruising down the road. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this '58 Plymouth looks great as well, and really sets this car off! The body of this '58 Belvedere has been refinished in beautiful Jet Black paint that completes the exterior look of this wonderful car. The interior of this 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible is absolutely stunning! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in a two-tone color scheme consisting of white vinyl with period-correct black patterned cloth inserts. The matching upholstered door panels, black carpeting, padded dash, and steering wheel are all in fantastic shape and all appear to remain in their stock configuration. All 4 power windows go up and down easily, all with a little flick of a switch. Further adding to the futuristic layout of the interior of the '58 Belvedere is the rearview mirror that sits atop the dash. The luxuriously-trimmed instrument cluster comes equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, along with a clock and indicator lights for oil pressure and amps. The dash is finished off with various vehicle controls, a locking glovebox, and an AM radio. Whether you're a seasoned Mopar collector adding to your collection or you're buying your very first classic car, this 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible would make an excellent choice.
