"This 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible is a beautifully restored, well-optioned Cadillac convertible that exemplifies the highest form a luxury cruising. The year 1958 was one of remarkable contradiction for Cadillac and its parent company, General Motors. An economic recession had cast a shadow over virtually every American automaker, delivering the industry's most significant sales setback since the close of World War II. Yet amid the headwinds, there was no shortage of reasons to celebrate in Detroit. General Motors marked its golden anniversary as America's preeminent automaker, while Cadillac achieved a milestone of its own - rolling its two-millionth automobile off the production line. The journey to that milestone tells its own compelling story: it took Cadillac 47 years to produce its first million cars, yet a mere eight years to double that figure, a testament to the marque's extraordinary postwar momentum. Though the recession trimmed Cadillac's sales by some 25,000 units compared to the prior year, it did nothing to diminish the division's creative ambition, and the 1958 Cadillac is today regarded as one of the most beautifully resolved designs in the brand's storied history. The redesigned front end made an immediate statement, featuring a broader, more commanding grille punctuated by rows of distinctive cylindrical cleats bridging its horizontal and vertical members. Responding to new federal lighting regulations, the 1958 models adopted a quad headlight arrangement, each pair framed by lustrous chrome accents. The iconic ""Dagmar"" bumper guards remained a proud fixture of the front fascia, now joined by repositioned parking lights sitting lower in the valance. Along the flanks, five refined horizontal windsplits ahead of the rear wheel wells lent the body an air of purposeful elegance. At the rear, a more restrained tailfin treatment replaced the drama of earlier years, paired with a revised split rear bumper. Perched at the very pinnacle of the Cadillac convertible hierarchy, the Eldorado Biarritz arrived lavishly appointed with elevated trim and an expanded roster of standard features. Commanding a breathtaking $7,500 at launch - nearly 30% above the standard Series 62 - and produced in a run of just 815 units, the Eldorado Biarritz Convertible remains among the rarest and most coveted artifacts of the American automotive golden age. A Tri-Power 365 cubic inch V8 engine fed by a trifecta of dual-barrel carburetors powers this '58 Eldorado Biarritz and was said to have produced 335 horsepower when new. The Tri-Power 365 V8 is mated to a Hydra-Matic Automatic transmission, providing for an easy car for anybody to take on a Sunday cruise or just a spin around the block. Exhaust exits the 335 horsepower powerplant via a dual exhaust setup that generates a wonderfully throaty sound out of the rear tailpipes. Being that this '58 is not only a Cadillac but also Cadillac's most premium model in 1958, it comes absolutely loaded with fantastic options. With power brakes in all four corners, bringing this powerful convertible to a complete stop is a total breeze. This 1958 Cadillac Eldorado also comes outfitted with power steering, so squeezing into that tight parking space at the local car show or ice cream parlor feels almost effortless and the overall driving experience is much improved. Further simplifying parking efforts is a chrome driver's side outside mirror that provides improved visibility down the side of this luxurious cruiser. The black vinyl power convertible top is in wonderful condition as well, going up and down with the simple flick of a switch. Riding on a brand new set of wide whitewall radial tires mounted on chrome Sabre wheels, this '58 Cadillac Convertible has an outstanding look and even better ride. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this 1958 Cadillac is in nice shape as well, further adding to the high-class look of this luxurious convertible. The steel body of this 1958 Eldorado Biarritz has been correctly refinished in beautiful black paint that completes the exterior look of this terrific automobile. The interior of this 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible is equally gorgeous! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in Red Leather that contrasts nicely with the exterior of this 1958 Biarritz Convertible. The interior also comes absolutely loaded with fantastic options! You're be able to stay cool even on the hottest summer days thanks to the factory air conditioning. All four side windows, as well as the driver's and passenger's side vent windows, are power operated so you'll be able to open and close all of the windows effortlessly. The red leather upholstered front seat is also power operated so that anybody can easily adjust the seat to their liking. Mounted atop the dash is one of Cadillac's most iconic options; that being, an Autronic Eye that senses oncoming cars and lowers the brightness of the car's headlights when oncoming traffic is approaching at night. The red padded dash, red and ivory upholstered door panels, red carpeting, and ivory steering wheel are all in wonderful condition as well, retaining a nice stock appearance throughout the interior cabin on this Cadillac. Instrumentation includes a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, along with a clock that is incorporated into the instrument cluster. The dash is finished off with a push-button AM radio, locking glovebox, cigar lighter and ashtray, and a variety of controls for the car. The back seat also comes equipped with ashtrays on either side along with cigar lighters. Whether you're buying your very first classic car or you're adding to an existing Cadillac collection, this 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible would make an excellent choice.
