GMC has been in the business of building tough and reliable trucks since GM formed the General Motors Truck Company in 1911. What most people don't realize, however, is that in the 1950's the company produced some of the most stylish pickups ever made, particularly the 1956-1957 models. These trucks featured hooded headlights and a bumper with protruding circular guards which were styling themes that had earlier been associated with Cadillac. These styling cues, combined with the panoramic windshield and backlight, gave the trucks a decidedly upmarket appearance. This stunning 1956 GMC is an outstanding example of these stylish classics with significant safety, comfort, and performance upgrades. Lift this jewel's deeply sculpted hood and you'll see the Pontiac 350 V8 that's a newer version of the original engine and features an Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum intake manifold as well as a Champion aluminum radiator. Additional features include power rack and pinion steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, Vintage Air A/C, an automatic transmission, 3.42 rear end, a Mustang II-type IFS with coilovers, a beautiful interior with leather upholstery, AM/FM/Bluetooth audio system, an amazing oak bed, and wide whitewall tires (225/75R15) on steel wheels with 1957 Cadillac wheel covers.
