"1956 Ford F100 Pickup
The introduction of the Ford F-series in 1948 sparked a flame destined to grow into a roaring fire by the turn of the 21st century. Over 100,000 of these trucks left the factory every year between 1953 and 1956, retaining the standard trim levels of F-100 to F-900. Of course, the most popular models were still the F-100, with the trucks finding their ways into suburban driveways en masse for the first time.
For consignment, a 1956 Ford F100 pickup truck showing 2,581 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a title exemption. This is one of the 137,581 trucks built that year that made it to 2026, now representing a desirable American classic and this special resto-mod is not your grandfather's F100!
Exterior
Twilight Gray Metallic from Lexus adorns this rig which allows the red emblems to pop off the surface like beacons, beginning with the crest on the nose of the hood and the Ford F100 arrow on each side. The stupendous chrome grille remains and is augmented by smoked headlights that allow this truck to stand out. Flat front and rear bumpers are also in great condition and the 18-inch Budnik Ice wheels are off the charts cool, looking great wrapped in low profile tires and allowing the brake work to shine through. The bed is lined with the straight grain of rift sawn and stained oak planks and stainless bed rails, all in immaculate condition. We're not putting anything back here but our eyes! Exhaust tips are skillfully and modestly contoured into the running boards. Imperfections are few and include a crack, some chips, and an inclusion or two.
Interior
Tan and saddle leather lines the door panels and both present cleanly. The bench seat is matched by the same colors and materials and an air ride control box is tucked underneath. A showy steering wheel fronts the Dakota Digital dashboard ahead, characteristically black when off, and lit by blue digits when on, fitting into an arched cove that keeps things old school. The upper dash is paint matched to the exterior and the lower half is wrapped in tan leather and housing a Dakota Digital A/C panel and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD radio, and it's all spotless clean. Black carpeted mats protect the saddle panels on the floor and the headliner is artfully crafted to reflect the two tone palette.
Drivetrain
This build continues to impress and the engine compartment follows suit. Here we have a 427ci stroker V8 with a Dart block with a Comp Cams billet hydraulic roller cam, Keith Craft Brodix aluminum heads, and fuel injection managed by Holley Terminator EFI. It's mated to a Performance Transmissions level 2 4R70W 4-speed automatic transmission with a 10"" converter. In back, the Ford 9"" carries a Detroit TrueTrac differential and Currie 31 spline axles. The show worthy engine bay reveals headers, power steering, and air conditioning. Naturally, the truck runs on a 12 volt system.
Undercarriage
Spectacular and a valid reason to invest in some floor mirrors for car shows, the underside is not only spotless and reflective, but also utilizes that Lexus gray paint to color some components. The custom dual stainless exhaust carries MagnaFlow mufflers and then turns to the side to exist under the running boards. Wilwood disc brakes are at all four wheels and suspension consists of Heidts Mustang II style front up front air bags and a torque arm in back. The wheelbase has been lengthened by five inches.
Drive-Ability
We'll do a short lap on the test loop to keep this beauty clean and our test of this well crafted build comes back with flying colors, not just gray! The truck has good power, a fantastic sound, and great visibility thanks to wrap-around windows. All functional items on board operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
This top tier build is an absolute show stopper. It's a no expense spared build and even the fluids were carefully considered with Royal Purple, Amsoil, and Lucas synthetic all playing a part in keeping this F100 running like a sewing machine. If you're ready to get serious, give us a call.
