Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to present 1955 Chevrolet 210. Few cars capture the spirit of the 1950s quite like a 1955 Chevrolet, and this beautifully executed restomod takes that timeless styling and elevates it with modern performance, engineering, and craftsmanship. Finished in a stunning two-tone red and white paint scheme, this 210 has an unmistakable presence. The classic body lines are complemented by a staggered wheel setup, featuring 18-inch wheels up front and 20-inch wheels in the rear, giving the car an aggressive yet refined stance.
Under the hood is a 550 horsepower LS3 V8, built by the respected local performance shop Nickens Brothers. This modern powerplant brings serious performance to a classic Chevrolet platform. The engine is paired with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission featuring a Hurst short-throw shifter, putting control of all that power right where it belongs. A ZL1 high-performance clutch helps manage the power delivery, while Ultimate Headers and a custom 2.5-inch exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers provide an impressive exhaust combination. Additional engine compartment details include a custom CVF front pulley system, bringing a clean and purposeful appearance to the LS3 setup.
The engineering underneath this Chevrolet is just as impressive as what you see above. Built on an Art Morrison chassis, the car features coilover suspension and a 4-link rear suspension setup designed to provide modern handling characteristics. A Ford 9-inch rear end with positraction puts the power to the pavement, while power rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes bring modern driving convenience and stopping capability. The car underwent a rotisserie build, and the underside received a red LizardSkin spray coating, adding another thoughtful detail to the overall construction.
Inside, the craftsmanship continues with a custom red and white interior by Cooks Custom Interior. The all-white seating and coordinating red and white accents create a beautiful contrast against the exterior while giving the cabin a distinctive custom appearance. Dakota Digital gauges provide modern instrumentation, while power windows add convenience. Vintage Air conditioning and heat make this classic Chevrolet more accommodating in a variety of driving conditions.
This 1955 Chevrolet 210 is a wonderful example of what happens when iconic American styling meets modern hot rod engineering. From the 550 horsepower LS3 and Tremec 6-speed manual transmission to the Art Morrison chassis, coilover suspension, and custom red and white interior, the attention to detail carries throughout the entire build. Whether admiring its beautifully finished exterior, exploring the custom engine compartment, or appreciating the extensive chassis work underneath, this Chevrolet offers a remarkable combination of classic character and modern performance.
