This 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe underwent body modifications under previous ownership and features a chopped roof, a smoothed and tucked rear bumper, a custom grille, frenched vertical taillamps, and a custom rear roll pan as well as shaved door handles and front fender lights. The car is powered by a supercharged stroker 383ci V8 mated with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in cherry red over tan leather upholstery. Equipment includes a Weiand supercharger, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a billet serpentine drive system, a Mustang II-style front suspension, power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, and staggered American Racing wheels as well as Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital instrumentation, remote-controlled door poppers, and a custom audio system. The previous owner’s repairs consisted of rebuilding the transmission and carburetor and replacing the water pump, hoses, throttle cable, and valve cover gaskets. This Bel Air is offered by WCDM with a clean BC Registration.
The body is finished in cherry red and was repainted under previous ownership. Modifications to the body include a chopped roof, a smoothed and tucked rear bumper, a custom grille, frenched vertical taillamps, a custom rear roll pan with dual exhaust outlets, and shaved door handles and front fender lights. The fuel filler has been relocated to the trunk. Chrome staggered American Racing wheels are mounted with Mickey Thompson ET street tires measuring 205/40 R17 up front and 345/35 R18 out back. The car is fitted with a Mustang II-style front suspension and power steering. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners. The high-pressure power steering hoses have been replaced in 2022.
The cabin features bolstered front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in tan leather joined by a custom center console. Equipment includes Vintage Air climate control, power front windows, electronic door poppers, an exhaust cut-out switch, lap belts, and cup holders. The audio system features an amplified subwoofer and speakers, a dash-mounted Pioneer CD stereo, and a trunk-mounted 8-track cassette player. The air conditioning was recharged in 2022. The left front outer seat cover bolster is worn. The wood three-spoke steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation that features a tachometer, a speedometer, and readouts for oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 1k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 383ci stroker V8 features a Weiand supercharger, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, a billet serpentine drive system, polished engine dress-up components, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. A battery cut-off switch is mounted to the right inner fender. Work in 2022 consisted of rebuilding the carburetor, flushing the coolant, and replacing the water pump, lower radiator hose, serpentine belt, battery, throttle cable, and valve cover gaskets. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch rear axle. The transmission was rebuilt in 2022. A custom dual exhaust system with electronic cut-outs and Flowmaster mufflers has been installed.
