"This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Custom Pro-Touring Pickup has been treated to a complete restomod treatment with an upgraded drivetrain, entirely custom look, and creature comforts galore! Chevrolet's storied history producing pickup trucks dates back to 1918 when the GM marque debuted its first commercial line of trucks. As the years progressed, Chevy Trucks continued to rise in popularity until the United States' entrance into World War II, when the entire automotive industry halted consumer production and shifted its focus to the war effort. Once production resumed in 1946, Chevrolet sold over a quarter million new pickups - though the designs were largely re-badged, slightly tweaked pre-war models. That all changed in 1948 when Chevrolet completely redesigned its truck line under the now-iconic ""Advanced Design"" banner, a style that carried forward into the early 1950s with only minor refinements. Around the same time, trucks were beginning to shed their purely commercial identity. Consumers were increasingly using light-duty pickups as everyday transportation, driving demand for more stylish designs and more comfortable cabs. By 1953, the Advanced Design line had matured into one of the most recognizable truck designs in American automotive history, highlighted that year by the introduction of a one-piece curved windshield - a significant upgrade that gave the cab a cleaner, more modern look. In recent years, these early 1950s Chevy trucks have become a favorite of restomodders, and it's easy to see why. Their timeless proportions and wide availability of aftermarket parts make them an ideal platform. Fitted with modern powertrains, creature comforts, and custom styling, they're as enjoyable to drive as they are to look at - and endlessly customizable to an owner's vision. Under the hood on this '53 Chevy Restomod is an upgraded 400 cubic inch V8 engine topped by a single 4 barrel carburetor, that together produce far better performance than the stock 6-banger ""Thriftmaster."" Exhaust exits the stout V8 power plant via upgraded tubular headers and out through a custom dual exhaust system that produces a terrific throaty sound out of the rear tailpipes. The engine's cooling system has also been upgraded with an aluminum radiator and electric fan system for more efficient cooling. The small block Chevy engine is backed by an upgraded TH350 Automatic Transmission that makes this custom pickup an easy truck for anybody to enjoy. In addition to the the automatic transmission, this 1953 Chevy Pro Touring Truck is absolutely loaded with upgrades! With upgraded power steering, the overall driving experience is much improved and it makes squeezing into that tight parking space at the car show that much simpler. With power front disc brakes along with updated cross-drilled rotors and a dual master cylinder, bringing this built Chevy truck to a complete stop is both much easier and more reliable. Also, with all of the extra performance under the hood, the entire suspension has been re-worked for a much improved ride with an independent Camaro-style setup up front and a 4-Link Coil Over setup in the rear. Furthermore, the suspension has been outfitted with a lowering kit for a mild custom look while also making getting in and out of the truck easier as well. Riding on a staggered set of polished Boyd Coddington ""Junkyard Dog"" wheels wearing 225/40ZR18 radials up front and 255/35ZR20 radials in the back, this Pro-Touring Chevy has a fantastic custom look and even better ride. The exterior of this 1953 Chevy 3100 Pickup also sports dual outside mirrors and front and rear chrome bumpers, along with several classic hot rod upgrades including Frenched LED headlights, a shaved hood, and even a charming door popper system. The all-steel pickup box is equipped with a custom finished wood bed accented with polished stainless strips. The all steel body of this 1953 Chevy half ton has been refinished in a custom Burnt Orange Metallic paint scheme that completes the exterior look of this restomod. The interior of this 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Custom Pro-Touring Pickup is absolutely loaded! The driver and passenger sit in custom Hazelnut and Beige upholstered bucket seats that are separated by a custom center console. In addition to some extra storage space, the custom console houses an upgraded AM/FM/Bluetooth entertainment system as well as the controls for the Air Conditioning system by Vintage Air. A custom leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted to an upgraded tilt steering column that makes it easy to get in and out of this pro-touring rig. Both windows go up and down easily with the simple flick of a switch. The upgraded instrumentation includes a 140 MPH speedometer along with gauges for voltage, engine temperature, oil pressure, and fuel. Whether you're buying your very first classic pickup truck or you're adding to your existing collection of customs, this 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Custom Pro-Touring Pickup would make an excellent choice.
