""Those smooth, sleek lines make the 1950 Mercury Eight Coupe a car to be admired at first sight. And your first drive will make you admire its down to earth roadability. Long, broad, sturdy, the ""better than ever"" 1950 Mercury Eight Coupe is sure to be a hit with style-wise people wherever it's seen."" From the 1950 sales brochure.
Mercury was right when they stated ""A car to be admired at first sight"". The Styling of vehicles from the 1950's were that in the prime of the ""Dream Car Era"". Automobile designer's were starting to let their creatively take over and some of the best & most iconic vehicle were starting to appear in the auto shows and highways of the day. This 1950 Mercury Eight Coupe was Fully Restored over 10-years ago and is still running on it's original 6-Volt System. The Bulbous Lid, Rounded Rear Quarters & polished Chrome make this coupe stand out, and the Black is polished to a mirror finish.
Under the hood you will find the original Mercury 255ci Flathead V8 with it's ""Tea-Pot 1BBL Carburetor & massive factory brass radiator. This Motor was removed earlier this year (2026) for a new fresh coat of paint to bring it back to it's fully originality. Still mated to its original 3-Speed Manual Transmission with the Working Overdrive, This Mercury Eight glides down the road smooth and straights. Even with the Drum Brakes, she's still stops quickly and shift smoothly!
The Interior is large and spacious, room enough for 4-6 passengers. The Large Steering Wheel allow easier viewing to the original dark navy gray steel dash. One thing to note: the radio is no longer functional, & the Fuel Sending unit was just recently replaced. This Coupe is ready to cruise and to be enjoyed!
