This 1950 Chevrolet Custom street rod known as “Victory’ was a Ridler Award contender and Great 8 award winner and has amassed numerous prestigious awards. Power comes from a 502ci big block Chevy from Street and Performance producing over 500hp before the addition of a COMP roller cam and custom sheet metal intake manifold. Up top is a custom stainless steel intake designed for this car and painted with PPG paint, as well as aluminum heads and custom chrome valve covers with carbon fiber inserts. Except for the neatly tucked spark plug wires, there isn’t a visible wire in this bay. A polished radiator is hidden by a custom body-matched panel that covers the front of the bay. The car has Hooker headers, custom polished stainless exhaust and Stainless Specialties mufflers. The engine is backed by a fully polished TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with B&M torque converter and a Mooneyes Smart Shift system with a digital push-button unit. Built over a 10 year time frame, this Chevrolet was turned into a rolling piece of art. Dreams of the Ridler Award were largely successful, as the car placed second in the Ridler Great 8 and took First place at more tha 28 prestigious shows, including the PPG Dream Car Award, First Place at Carlisle and numerous Super Chevy wins. The fascia is completely transformed with Mercedes headlights and a custom chrome grille. From the forward slope to the slug-fitting metal front bumper and highly modified hood, absolutely everything is modified in some way. The roofline, including front and rear glass, is borrowed from a Dodge Neon, thought most would be hard-pressed to identify the shape thanks to the alcoves that have been carved out in front of the C-pillars. Every inch of trim is shaved in favor of the clean look. Everything is smoothed with subtle taillights. The rear is tucked neatly against the body and features routing for the custom exhaust system. The glossy two-tone paint features PPG Chianti red on the upper and Lamborghini Orange on the lower portions. Orange paint continues eats the floor pans, suspension components and frame. Predominant colors are broken up by the airbrush work that simulates a thin strip of chrome trim and a small graphic featuring crossed flags reminiscent of the Corvette logo. Behind the logo, marbleized orange paint fills the gap between the airbrush work and a magenta stripe that is outlined by hand in neon green.
