1940 Ford Pickup Restomod | Dual Quad Crate 350c.i. V8 | 700R4 Automatic | 9in Posi | Binder of Build Receipts | Show Stopper!This is a beautiful 1940 Ford Pickup hot rod that turns heads, and is worthy of any car show and yet you can get in and drive as far as your heart desires!This truck has a gorgeous all steel body that is absolutely straight with no damage and fits very nicely. The hood has added louvers and wears original style chrome trim. It also has original style door handles, deluxe badging, and mirrors while the custom tubular chrome bumpers and dual exhaust are far from it and we can't get enough of it! The Red paint really stands out on this truck, it's polished to a very smooth, glossy finish and the period correct Indian Motorcycle door graphics really tie the theme together.(Graphics are removable) It has crystal clear headlights with integrated turn signals and a single fog lamp above the bumper and given this is a "Deluxe" model it has two rear tail lights while only one was standard back in 1940. Riding on 15in Chromed steel wheels wrapped in wide Whitewall Radial tires with matching chrome lugnuts and valve stems.Looking inside the cab the black interior with white inserts pairs beautifully with the red body color. A factory ford deluxe steering wheel frames a factory set of black face gauges which are set in the stock chrome bezel which has been highly polished. The trucks automatic transmission is shifted by a Locar floor shifter which sits just right! It has been updated with an American Auto Wire wiring system and fuse block. The dash controls are clearly marked, and the pin striping on the glove box door is a nice touchUnder the hood is a Vortec 350c.i. V8 with dual quads making over 400 horsepower. It features a nostalgic finned dual air cleaner with matching valve covers, Edelbrock carbs and Intake along with ceramic coated headers! Dressed up with some chrome, it's a nice looking motor. It has a polished alternator and polished drive pulleys. The big aluminum radiator is backed by an electric fan to keep it cool!The truck bed has a beautifully fitted wood bed floor with polished stainless slats and hardware throughout. The steel bed walls themselves are straight and show no signs of wear. In fact the paint is just as glossy as the rest of the truck!Underneath we have a rock solid frame and floors, a dual master cylinder is tucked along the frame rail supplying power assist to the front disc brakes and rear drums. The factory fuel tank has been replaced with a fuel cell and relocated under the bed. Dual stainless steel one-off exhaust system is routed up through the running boards and along the bedsides and sounds amazing! In case you ever want more the system also features lower dumps with block off plates. Looking up at the motor it is clean with a high torque starter. Just prior to the passing of the matriarch of LaFontaine Automotive Group, Maureen LaFontaine, the building in downtown Milford became available and it was the ideal location to launch LaFontaine Classic Cars. The attention to detail and automotive nostalgia throughout is a tribute to Maureen and her everlasting legacy.
The showroom aims to bring buyers back in time to a more classic feel. In addition to all the vehicles in the showroom, the space is decorated with vintage signs from vehicle brands of the past. Not only are there vehicles in the building, but the parking lot to the south contains many others available for purchase.
Michael Sr. commented, “This area is prefect for us as we have a lot of roots in Milford and absolutely love this quaint downtown. We look forward to welcoming fellow automotive enthusiasts through our showroom doors and they can expect to receive the same Family Deal feeling people have come to expect at any of our other dealerships. LaFontaine Classic Cars acquires vehicles several ways, with a majority of them coming through auction and Michael Sr.’s personal collection.
