Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this slick black, frame-off restored, all-steel 1940 Ford Deluxe coupe! We do not know when this beauty was restored, but we think that the 13,325 miles on the odometer represent how much it has been driven since then. This stunning coupe comes to us today with a deep, glossy coat of black paint and gleaming brightwork. The paint is exceptionally nice, with minimal miniscule imperfections. Up front you'll find a split windshield with chrome divider bar, a chrome hood spine that leads to a red ""V 8"" badge (that also serves as a handle to open the hood), and a chrome 3-piece horizontal bar grille. The grille is flanked by large rounded fenders that house round headlights in large chrome bezels with integrated turn signal lights. Below is a bright Ford bumper with guards. Bright body side spears begin on the sides of the hood at the front of the car and travel back past the doors nearly all the way to the taillights. Also on the sides of the hood are ""Ford Deluxe"" script badges with red sides and chrome faces. Looking at the car from the side, there are dual chrome side mirrors, bright door handles, a roof-mounted antenna, and ribbed rubber-covered steel running boards. Under the rounded fenders are red steel wheels with ""V8"" center caps and beauty rings. The wheels are wrapped in staggered Starfire SF340 tires that give this coupe a muscular stance (front – 195/65R15, rear – 235/75R15). Around back you'll find a third brake light has been added to the split rear window. The decklid sports a red ""FORD V8"" trunk badge and a Deklite chrome handle. Mounted on the rear fenders on either side of the trunk are chrome-framed taillights that resemble upside-down corporal's stripes. Below is a chrome bumper that mimics the one up front and a set of protruding tailpipes that emit a hearty growl. Take a look underneath to find a clean black undercarriage that's a testament to the frame-off restoration. Underneath you'll see front and rear sway bars, an independent front suspension, a power rack & pinion steering system, and an exhaust system that used to have working exhaust cut-outs (they are now capped off).
Flip up the ""V8"" handle and lift the hood to find a show-quality gloss black engine bay. The star of the show is a 350ci GM V-8 engine appropriately dressed in orange paint. It is topped off with a polished aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold, chrome finned valve covers with cross-flags emblems and red accents, an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, and a chrome air cleaner. Ahead of the block, attached by aluminum brackets are a chrome Sanden compressor for the Vintage Air system, a chrome alternator, and a power steering unit with an an aluminum reservoir cannister. Keeping things cool under the hood is a Walker radiator with a Cooling Components electric puller fan and an aluminum overflow cannister. The V-8 is mated up to a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via an aluminum driveshaft and an 8"" Ford rear axle with 3.73 posi gears – a great combination for anything from a burnout to a 70mph cruise down the highway, and everything in between. Exhaust travels through cast manifolds before heading through pipes and mufflers and out the tips in the rear. Ample stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
Open the drivers door to reveal a gorgeous red and black interior that combines classic style with modern conveniences. The door panels are red vinyl with red carpet, armrests, and crank windows.
The red vinyl bench seat looks like new, it's equipped with seat belts, and it's quite comfortable. The same red vinyl that covers the doors and seats also appears on the rear package tray, headliner, visors, and kick panels. Underfoot is very nice red pile carpet with no demerits. Ahead of the driver is a period-correct black two-spoke steering wheel with a working horn on a black tilt column. Also on the column is the shifter (and indicator) for the automatic transmission. Beyond the wheel is a black painted dash with a set of working VDO gauges in a carbon-fiber-style bezel. In the center of the dash is an original bright grille with a working speaker behind it. Over to the right is a glovebox door with a working clock mounted on it – and the clock even lights up when the lights are on. Behind the door there is no box, just wiring and ductwork. Mounted under the center of the dash is a control panel for the Vintage Air system that cranks out cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan on demand. Under the dash to the drivers left is a knob that controls the brightness of the gauge lights and to the right is a toggle switch that controls the electric fan on the radiator. On the floor, atop the transmission tunnel is a custom red wooden caddy with a Custom Autosound head unit attached that plays your cruisin soundtrack through the dash speaker and two speakers on the rear package tray. Around back in the trunk there's a fitted rubber floormat, carpeted boxed walls, a bra to keep the front end looking nice, and behind the back wall – a spare tire, jack, and the battery.
If you're in the market for a classic Ford street rod, you owe it to yourself to give this one a serious look! With an all-steel body, slick paint, cold A/C, independent front suspension, front disc brakes, power steering, V-8 power, an automatic overdrive transmission, and a stunning interior, this '40 Ford really offers the whole package! This ride is a perfect combination of vintage styling and modern performance, safety, and long-distance driving comfort! You'll be hard-pressed to find another '40 Ford with so much to offer, so don't delay – give our friendly staff a call today!

Here at Cruisin Classics, we understand that you have many options when choosing where you purchase your classic, muscle or collector car and we would like to thank you for considering us.
Cruisin Classics has been buying and selling cars for many years.. The majority were your average daily drivers but our passion has always been in muscle cars and hot rods so in 1996, Cruisin Classics built a 56,000 sq.ft. showroom located in Columbus, OH that they still operate out of today. All of our vehicles are hand-picked and selected to ensure they fit our inventory. This facility is now arguably one of the best-stocked collections for sale in the US housing hundreds of unique automobiles all under one roof. We invite you to our facility! There is something for everybody when you come to visit.
After years of serving as central Ohio's premiere classic car dealer at Cruisin Classics Auto Sales, we saw an unfulfilled need that was not being met for our clients. We loved helping match our clients with the classic and American muscle cars of their dreams. But what about after the purchase? We recognized that our clients needed a trusted resource to continue to care for their classic vehicles. It did not sit well with us that our valued clients and their incredible vehicles were being outsourced to, sometimes several, third-party resources for maintenance and performance needs. We also wanted to help the many people that we had met over the years who already owned classic vehicles which were in need of restoration, upgrades, and maintenance. Too often, we were seeing vehicles with so much potential left sitting in garages under covers because their owners did not know who to turn to for such specialized work. It is our goal to offer our clients a truly comprehensive, seamless, and enjoyable classic car ownership experience, from purchase to maintenance to storage. Thus, Cruisin Classics Performance Center was born. We have cherry-picked the most talented, experienced, and passionate team of technicians to offer our clients a true one-stop-shop solution for any and all of their classic car needs. Our honest business model has lasted almost 25 years to date and Cruisin Classics has a worldwide reputation as one of the best in the business.
Outside of the shop, this business has afforded us the opportunity to be actively involved in our community and fulfill our goal of supporting several local and national organizations that hold a special place in our hearts. We are proud sponsors of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus, the Columbus USO, Honor Flight, Special Olympics, multiple car clubs, and much more.
In conclusion, 100% customer satisfaction is our main goal. Always has been.. always will be. We would like to invite anyone considering one of our vehicles to come to our beautiful facility to inspect the car in person or send somebody on your behalf.
