"1938 Plymouth 5-window coupe street rod, expertly crafted by Dick's Hot Rod Shop. This Plymouth distinguishes itself from typical street rods by being an all-steel-bodied Plymouth, a relatively rare make compared to more common Chevy or Ford street rods. Vintage design combined with modern performance, highlighted by a smooth-running inline flat-six engine with 230 cubic inches, coupled with a modern five-speed manual transmission and dual carburetors. It easily cruises at speeds of 60 to 70 mph and benefits from mechanical upgrades, including front disc brakes and Michelin radial tires, enhancing safety and handling. The exterior sports a medium blue metallic paint job approximately five to six years old, with a professionally applied protective film on the front end to guard against chips and scratches. Chrome bright work and custom pin striping add to the car's visual appeal, while custom chrome wheels and a refined stance showcase its show-worthy qualities. Inside, the interior remains true to its vintage roots with a beige cloth bench seat, a classic instruments cluster, a tachometer mounted on the steering column, and a manually operated choke. Comforts include an air conditioning system that cleverly vents from behind the seat backs, and added seatbelts for safety. The wiring has been recently updated, and the car includes practical features like a battery shutoff switch and a well-designed gas door and trunk release mechanisms. On the road, the 1938 Plymouth delivers a smooth, comfortable ride with excellent braking and responsive steering. Its suspension has been upgraded sufficiently to allow flat, controlled cornering. The steering feels balanced, and the transmission's shift is notably refined and tactile, offering an engaging driving experience. The vintage exhaust note adds character to the driving atmosphere.
