Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this 1934 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery street rod. This is a very well-built and cared-for car that combines stunning old-school style with modern conveniences. This car came to us with a folder of receipts as well as photos taken during the build. From the receipts, we can see that the build took place between 1991-1993 and most of the work was done by a shop in Cleveland Ohio called Lobecks V8 Shop. The shop started with a fiberglass Outlaw body and steel chassis – a solid foundation to work with. It passed a safety inspection by the NSRA in 1993 – a testament to the quality of the build. Today, 33 years later, only 10,274 miles have been put on the car and it looks so good you'd think it was built last week! Let's take a deeper dive into this seriously cool street rod...
This Sedan Delivery comes to us today dressed in its original coat of Bahama Blue paint that still looks fantastic. This car comes with a black vinyl front end bra, and the previous owners must have used it because the lower front end is free of stone chips. The brilliant blue paint is accented by some very tasteful pink and peach pinstripes that flow along the body line at waist level. The paint is deep and glossy and while we could find a couple of very small touch-ups, we'd consider it show-quality. Looking at the car from the front, there's a shield-shaped stainless steel eggcrate grille flanked by King Bee bucketed headlights and swooping fenders. There is no front bumper, so turn signals are discretely mounted under the fenders on the frame rail horns. As you move around to the side of the car, the forward-slanted body and raked stance really grab your eye. The body is smooth on the sides, with no chrome elements (like door handles) to take away from the form of the body. Panel fitment is first rate and consistent around the body. The windows are lightly tinted and the wiper arms have been removed to keep the clean look. Attached to both doors are small rectangular body-color side mirrors. Back on the rear window panel is a small pinstriped ""Willie's Wagon"" done in script. Contributing to both the stance and look of the car are what appear to be a set of Boyd Coddington wheels with knock-offs from Mr. Roadster. The tires are staggered, with Nexen SB802's (165/80R15) up front and Nexen Npriz AHS's (235/75R15) in the rear. You can see blue calipers peeking through the front wheels and blue drums behind the rears. At the rear corner of the drivers side you'll find a pop-out fuel door that has a release for the rear door hidden inside. Around back, you'll see that a third brake light has been flush-mounted beneath the window on the cargo door. Just like the other doors, this rear door also lacks an exterior handle. Beneath the door on the lower valence are a set of inset rectangular taillights. Poking out from under that valence are a set of chrome Meg's exhaust tips that let out a pleasing rumble. Take a look underneath the car to find an incredibly clean undercarriage that's painted the same blue as the the topside. You'll also find an Outlaw stainless gas tank, stainless steel dual exhaust with glass-pack style mufflers, adjustable rear coil-overs, independent front suspension, and rack & pinion steering. Lift the side-hinged hood to reveal an immaculately clean engine bay that's painted with the same slick blue paint as the exterior. At the center is a 1988 Chevrolet 350ci V-8 that's dressed in blue with matching blue intake and valve covers. It's topped off with a 4-barrel carburetor and a polished aluminum oval air cleaner. Ahead of the engine there's a chrome Sanden compressor for the Vintage A/C system and a chrome alternator. Keeping things running cool under the hood is a Walker radiator with an electric puller fan. The strong-running small block is mated to a 1988 TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via an 8"" Ford rear axle. Steering is manual but easy thanks to the rack & pinion. The brakes are also manual, but with the discs up front you'd swear they feel like power. Exhaust flows through Pro-Car headers before heading back to the mufflers.
To enter this Chevy you simply press a button on the key fob that lowers the drivers window, then you reach in and open the door with the interior handle. When the door opens, the dome light pops on to illuminate a very well preserved Ed Watson interior done in blue. A single style of blue fabric covers the door panels, kick panels, side walls, headliner, windshield surround, and seats – creating a very uniform look. The molded door panels offer power window controls, armrests, and handles. The front bucket seats are re-covered seats from a 1987 Thunderbird (minus the headrests). Both seats are manually adjustable, equipped with lap safety belts, and in excellent condition with no visible demerits. A fire extinguisher has been mounted between the front seats. Good quality blue carpet covers the floor up front as well as back in the cargo area. The driver is treated to a 4-spoke blue leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel with a working horn on an '88 Chevy tilt column. Ahead of the wheel is a blue painted dash loaded up with VDO gauges for fuel, temp, oil pressure, and voltage as well as a 120mph speedometer. To the right of the gauges, ahead of the passenger, is an Audiovox AM/FM/Cassette stereo that plays through speakers mounted in the rear sidewalls behind the seats. Mounted under the dash to the drivers left are a pull for the lights, a knob for the wipers, and a hood release pull. Under the dash to the right you'll find a toggle switch that operates the power antenna and controls for the Vintage Air system that cranks out cold A/C on demand with a strong fan through 3 vents, To open the rear door, there is a pull handle on the rear sidewall just inside the door next to the drivers seatback. In the cargo area is a battery box dressed in the same fabric as the rest of the interior, a car cover, a custom black vinyl bra in a storage bag, a pair of floormats, a mesh cover for the grille, the wiper arms and blades, and two customized blue satin jackets that let folks know you're the one with the cool '34 Sedan Delivery.
If you're looking for a gorgeous well-built street rod, you should take a hard look at this '34 Chevy Sedan Delivery! It would cost six figures to build such a car today and you can make this one your own for less than half of that! It's a real head-turner, it runs and drives like a modern car, it's got creature comforts like cold A/C, everything works on it, and it's turn-key ready to hit the road today! Give our staff a call, don't wait, you don't want to miss out on the opportunity to make this classic your own!

Here at Cruisin Classics, we understand that you have many options when choosing where you purchase your classic, muscle or collector car and we would like to thank you for considering us.
Cruisin Classics has been buying and selling cars for many years.. The majority were your average daily drivers but our passion has always been in muscle cars and hot rods so in 1996, Cruisin Classics built a 56,000 sq.ft. showroom located in Columbus, OH that they still operate out of today. All of our vehicles are hand-picked and selected to ensure they fit our inventory. This facility is now arguably one of the best-stocked collections for sale in the US housing hundreds of unique automobiles all under one roof. We invite you to our facility! There is something for everybody when you come to visit.
After years of serving as central Ohio's premiere classic car dealer at Cruisin Classics Auto Sales, we saw an unfulfilled need that was not being met for our clients. We loved helping match our clients with the classic and American muscle cars of their dreams. But what about after the purchase? We recognized that our clients needed a trusted resource to continue to care for their classic vehicles. It did not sit well with us that our valued clients and their incredible vehicles were being outsourced to, sometimes several, third-party resources for maintenance and performance needs. We also wanted to help the many people that we had met over the years who already owned classic vehicles which were in need of restoration, upgrades, and maintenance. Too often, we were seeing vehicles with so much potential left sitting in garages under covers because their owners did not know who to turn to for such specialized work. It is our goal to offer our clients a truly comprehensive, seamless, and enjoyable classic car ownership experience, from purchase to maintenance to storage. Thus, Cruisin Classics Performance Center was born. We have cherry-picked the most talented, experienced, and passionate team of technicians to offer our clients a true one-stop-shop solution for any and all of their classic car needs. Our honest business model has lasted almost 25 years to date and Cruisin Classics has a worldwide reputation as one of the best in the business.
Outside of the shop, this business has afforded us the opportunity to be actively involved in our community and fulfill our goal of supporting several local and national organizations that hold a special place in our hearts. We are proud sponsors of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus, the Columbus USO, Honor Flight, Special Olympics, multiple car clubs, and much more.
In conclusion, 100% customer satisfaction is our main goal. Always has been.. always will be. We would like to invite anyone considering one of our vehicles to come to our beautiful facility to inspect the car in person or send somebody on your behalf.
