The beauty of classic street rods is that each car is a unique representation of the builders vision. No two are exactly alike. That said, most street rods of this era follow similar design formulas using Chevy or Ford V8 engines, automatic transmissions, and a plethora of aftermarket components to create their unique personalities. But what happens when someone dares to be different.......? YOU GET THIS CAR! A very special car indeed!
The builder of this beauty had a different set of driving dynamics in mind. Starting with an original all-steel 1934 Chevrolet 5 Window Coupe, the suspension was modified to incorporate late model Chevrolet S-10 suspension, power disc brakes, and rack and pinion steering components into the car's original but strengthened frame. Then came the real twist; the 4.3L V6 engine and 5-speed manual transmission. But why stop there? The S-10 dash/gauge cluster and tilt steering column were also installed. Followed by power windows, power door locks, and a new A/C system from Old Air Products. Of course, reclining bucket seats were needed to finish the modern and refined experience. Complimenting the mechanical build, the body was treated to a modern base/clear finish in subtle Gray/Bronze pearl, contrasting nicely with the chrome artillery-style wheels.
The completion of this vision resulted in one of the most fun and modern driving experiences I've personally encountered in a vintage street rod. It's light and agile, has a sports-car feel and is a pleasure to drive and enjoy.
This is a car that needs to be seen and experienced to truly appreciate. Call Art & Speed for more information before this one speeds away! 901-850-0507

At Art & Speed, we believe that automobiles are more than just transportation. They are part of the "thrill ride" of life!
Maybe it was the car that carried you and that special person on your first date; or brought home your newborn baby. Perhaps a certain car brought father and son together in a project that created cherished memories through frustration, laughter and proud accomplishments. Maybe it was the object that created freedom and exhilaration from the growl of the big block engine, the smell of the interior and the fuel, the feeling of being one with the road. Perhaps it's all about the first time you saw your favorite car with it's sleek lines, wild colors, bold graphics, or elegant sense of beauty and artful design. The wind in your face and hair… The sensation of speed… And remember the family vacations? And, of course, none of us ever had our picture taken with our cars, right?
As adults, we have a passion for the "vehicles of our lives," the stories that they remind us of, the music that we hear when we see certain automobiles. Indeed, automobiles are woven into the tapestry of our lives, reminding us of simpler pleasures.
At Art & Speed, our goal is to help you relive those experiences and create new ones. Founded by Kevin Caffman and Barry Gilmore, Art & Speed delivers the vehicles, memorabilia and special events that strike passion, revive old memories, and allow us to share those events with our family and friends. Kevin has been a "car guy" since he was old enough to peer out the car windows, identifying every car by year, make and model. Over the years, he has built a reputation for building, owning and selling high quality collector cars. With a background in business, information technology and digital marketing, he has continued to pursue the art of classic automobiles as a hobby. After a successful career in the corporate world, Kevin decided to pursue his dream of owning and building a "different kind of business". Kevin sees vintage, classic and performance cars as an emotional interaction, merging the worlds of performance with the art of the automobile. Thus the vision for Art & Speed was born!
