"1933 Dodge DP6 Sedan
Presenting an exceptional piece of automotive history, this highly original 1933 Dodge DP6 Sedan offers a rare glimpse into the prohibition era. Remarkably, this vehicle has had only two owners since new, with the current owner acquiring it directly from the original owner's family in 2020.
Historical Highlights:
Originally sold new in Pennsylvania for just $860 (a copy of the original dealer invoice included).
Equipped with its factory-original 201 cubic inch flathead/L-head inline-six engine.
Factory-original 3-speed manual transmission, axle, and drivetrain components.
Stunningly preserved original paint showcasing an authentic and appealing patina.
Completely original interior, instrumentation, and fully functional gauges.
Solid and straight body with all original, clear, crack-free glass.
Thoughtful and Tasteful Improvements (completed in 2023):
Drivetrain was carefully removed, inspected, re-gasketed, and freshly painted.
Converted from the original 6-volt positive-ground electrical system to a modern 12-volt negative-ground system for improved reliability and convenience.
New Offenhauser dual-carb intake manifold installed, complemented by an additional Stromberg downdraft carburetor for improved performance and drivability.
Completely new exhaust system featuring ""Jet Hot"" heat-coated headers, a new muffler, and finished with a polished stainless steel exhaust tip.
Added a Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system with an air/oil separator to effectively manage crankcase emissions and oily fumes, common in vintage vehicles.
Installed a brand-new water pump to ensure optimal engine cooling and reliability.
Wheels and Safety Enhancements:
Replaced original wooden wheels with period-correct wire wheels sourced from Wheel Smith (Corona, CA, item #I36404-1-200), paired with new tires for improved safety and drivability.
Included a spare tire on a narrower steel rim designed to fit neatly within the original spare tire cover.
Front safety belts (lap belts only) were thoughtfully added, maintaining vintage integrity while improving occupant safety.
If you've been searching for an authentic, well-preserved, and tastefully upgraded prohibition-era sedan with impeccable originality, this 1933 Dodge DP6 is an outstanding find. It is ready to be driven, enjoyed, and appreciated for its remarkable heritage.
