Zoom Classic Cars presents this 1932 Ford 3-Window Coupe Project. There are few silhouettes in the American hot-rod world more recognizable than the early Ford coupe. The 1932 Ford in particular became the foundation of the American hot-rod movement, earning the nickname “Deuce” from the “2” in its model year. Ford\'s introduction of an affordable V8 in 1932 transformed the car from ordinary transportation into one of the most important performance platforms in automotive history. After World War II, young enthusiasts discovered that inexpensive used Fords could be transformed into lightweight, fast and highly personalized hot rods. The Deuce became so deeply embedded in American car culture that the three-window and five-window coupes became icons of the hot-rod world, eventually appearing in magazines, movies and popular music. The Beach Boys\' Little Deuce Coupe and the prominent role of the Deuce in American Graffiti helped cement its place in American culture. And the enthusiasm has never really gone away. Original-steel Ford coupes are increasingly difficult to find because so many were modified, raced, chopped, customized or otherwise transformed over the decades. Today, reproduction bodies exist, but a genuine Henry Ford steel foundation remains highly desirable to builders who want authenticity. This 1932 Ford 3-Window Coupe project features a predominantly original Henry Ford steel body, complemented by replacement steel fenders. The car has been professionally chopped, giving it the unmistakable stance and attitude that have made early Ford coupes such enduring favorites among hot rodders. The body is finished in black paint that is in overall excellent condition and presents very well. This is an all-steel car, not a fiberglass reproduction, which makes the project particularly interesting to the traditionalist who wants genuine Ford steel as the foundation for a custom build. Power comes from a rebuilt 302 cubic-inch Ford V8, coupled to a C4 automatic transmission.
