This 1929 Ford Model A Custom Depot Hack combines the unmistakable character of Fords legendary Model A with the craftsmanship and charm of a hand-built wood body.
Power comes from a traditional Ford Model A 200.5ci L-head inline 4-cylinder engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission and the familiar Model A torque-tube driveline. The engine carries serial number A2839436, identifying it as a period Model A engine produced in 1930.
Rather than being represented as a factory Ford station wagon, this Model A features a custom Depot Hack-style wood body constructed by its previous owner. The woodwork has since been redone and presents beautifully, complemented by a refreshed interior, black fenders and running boards, traditional wire wheels, and a period-style fabric roof. The open-sided configuration captures the distinctive appearance of the early depot hacks that were used to transport passengers and luggage between railway stations, hotels and other destinations.
For improved modern-day usability, the electrical system has been converted to 12-volt negative ground and fitted with an alternator while retaining the vintage appearance and driving experience that make a Model A so enjoyable.
