Offered here is a beautifully preserved 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible finished in factory Light Blue (Code 3B) with blue bucket seat interior and silver stripe accents. Freshly detailed and presenting extremely well, this Mustang retains all of its original sheet metal and paint and has had just two owners since new. According to the included Deluxe Marti Report, this Mustang was built at the Dearborn plant, actually built on June 19, 1973, ordered through the New York DSO, and originally delivered through Stevens Ford Inc. of Milford, Connecticut. The Marti Report further confirms that it is one of 941 produced in this paint code for 1973, one of 573 produced with this paint and trim combination, one of 4,605 produced with this engine and transmission combination, and one of 7,533 equipped with a white power top with glass backlite.
Factory equipment listed on the Marti Report includes the original 302-2V V8 engine, C-4 Cruise-O-Matic transmission, 2.79 standard axle ratio, white power convertible top with glass backlite, power steering, AM radio, Décor Group, color-keyed racing mirrors, rear bumper guards, and white sidewall tires. The car remains powered by its original 302ci V8, now upgraded with a 4-barrel carburetor, and is equipped with an automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes. It has been very nicely maintained and runs and drives strong. The blue bucket seat interior with center console floor shifter presents beautifully and maintains its classic 1970s muscle-era appeal.
Condition notes include two small cosmetic blemishes on the hood and one minor blemish on the convertible top, all documented in the photos and not detracting from the car’s overall excellent presentation. The owner states the 10,106 miles shown are original. While we do not have documentation to fully certify the mileage, the condition of the vehicle strongly supports the claim based on overall wear and preservation.
Included with the car is an impressive collection of original documentation and memorabilia, including the original owner’s manual, original radio manual, repair manuals, specification manuals, dealer advertisement, magazine feature the car appeared in, and vintage photographs of the car. This is a highly original, documented, two-owner Mustang Convertible with outstanding provenance and factory documentation. A well-preserved example of the final year of the first-generation Mustang body style, this convertible is ready for shows, cruises, or to be enjoyed as a strong investment-grade classic.
