How to Sell Your Classic or Collector Car –

With literally hundreds, if not thousands of websites where you can list your classic car for sale, why should you choose allcollectorcars.com (ACC)? Things you need to consider when looking for places to sell your classic car, aka your baby, are as follows:

sell your classic car

1. Cost.

How much does is cost to sell your classic car on any given site?  Most legitimate sites do indeed charge you to place an ad with them.  There are some free sites out there and we say why not take advantage of that.  But you should also keep your expectations in check for those sites, they are free for a reason, and that reason is usually that they just don’t have the traffic coming to their site to warrant charging people for ads.  Then of course there are the sites that try to charge you way too much, they think because they might have a brand name and a high level of traffic, that they can charge you whatever they want to place an ad.  While they do have reason to charge more, it is really not necessary and the main reason for them doing so is to pad their own pockets.

AllCollectorCars.com has priced its ads right in the sweet spot at $29.99.  Our ads offer the MOST selling features of any website out there by giving you UNLIMITED pictures and descriptions and also we allow your listing to RUN UNTIL IT SELLS!  The vast majority of advertising revenue goes right back into growing our traffic, which then creates a better selling platform for you the seller!  With our current traffic numbers and the features we include in our listings, we could easily be charging upwards of $100 for these ads AND limit the time the listings stay online.  But that is not what we are about.

sell your classic car

2. Features Included.

As we just mentioned, ACC pumps your listing full of selling features right from the get go.  Sure you can upgrade for a very reasonable rate to try to increase your visibility on the site, but that is really all you pay extra for.  ALL of our private seller ads come fully stocked with unlimited pictures, unlimited descriptions, and maybe most importantly unlimited run time!  As you do your research and look around the internet for classic car classifieds sites to list your car at, you will find that the basic ads offered usually include somewhere around 3-10 pictures, limited description, and only run for 4 weeks before you need to pay again.  Our question at ACC is, why?  The point of our business is to help people connect with buyers and help them sell vehicles, so why not give you the very best chance at doing that right from the start?  So in advance… you’re welcome for not charging you extra to include as many pictures as humanly possible with your listing and also for allowing you to write a long perfectly descriptive description, all while keeping your ads live on our site at no extra cost until they are sold!

3. Ad Duration.

ACC private seller ads come with a GUARANTEE that you will sell your car!  That’s right, we touched on this in the paragraph above, but perhaps the most important benefit to ads placed at allcollectorcars.com is that they RUN UNTIL THEY SELL!  I mean why in the world would anyone pay a website to only to list their car for 4 weeks before having to pay AGAIN?  The entire point of placing an ad somewhere is to get your vehicle sold right, and unless a website is magic, it takes time to connect you with that perfect buyer.  Especially when dealing with classic and collector cars, there’s not always a line wrapping around the building waiting to buy your specific make and model vehicle.  This part of our listings was a no brainer right from the first day we started brainstorming our business.  “Run Til Sold” private seller ads, put that in the must have column for our website.  Personally I would be extremely wary of any site trying to squeeze more money out of you every few weeks they COULDN’T get your car sold for you.  I mean shouldn’t they refund you if they cant get the job done?  Ok enough of my ranting, bottom line, please don’t pay anyone who wont give you however long it takes to sell your car.

These are the 3 big ones and of course there are many other factors you can consider when choosing somewhere to sell your classic car.  The takeaways should be for you to: find a cost effective site which doesn’t eat up your entire budget.  This way you aren’t putting all your eggs in one basket, spread yourself out, the internet is HUGE!  Make sure you don’t get cheated on the features of the listing.  You need to be able to tell a story with your ad, and that cant happen in 3 pictures and 100 words.  Find someplace that gives you a TON of pictures with your listing and description should never be limited.  Last but not least, 4 weeks is not enough time to sell a classic car.  Unless a site is offering you a money back guarantee if not sold in that time, stay away.  Also beware that actually getting your money back will be a hassle.  Beyond those 3 things, you need to like the look and feel of the site you are using, if you wouldn’t shop there, why should anyone else.

We truly hope that if you are looking to sell your classic car or collector car that you will come to ACC first!  Click Here to see our simple rundown to options for private seller listings, we dare you to find a better deal!  We are positive you will love the way we present your vehicle to the world and don’t forget about the fact that your car WILL sell while listed on our site, and we wont take it down until it does!!

How to Ship Your Camaro

camaro allcollectorcarsAs a Camaro owner and enthusiast, keeping your vehicle in great condition is extremely important to you. In fact, allowing others to handle your Chevy Camaro is probably something you remain skeptical of and who could blame you? Nevertheless, there may come a time where having to ship your Camaro elsewhere is the best or only option. Fortunately, there are a lot of auto shipping companies out there that are familiar with handling the transport of a Camaro and other highly valued vehicles.

Find the Right Transport Company

Perhaps the best thing you could do for your Camaro when you need to have it relocated is to find a transport company with a positive reputation and years of experience. The Internet will be your most useful resource during your search for shipping companies, and sites like a1autotransport.com will let you compare shipping quotes online for free. Whether you are in New Hampshire or another state, there are transport companies nearby. Always start your search for a transporter locally.

As you scour your online resources to find the right transport company to ship your Camaro, pay close attention to the characteristics of each transporter you come across. There are certain qualities that any genuine transporter will possess to prove the dependability of their services.

  • The transporter will be approved by the Department of Transportation and carry all of the proper licensing.
  • They will offer insurance coverage for free to guarantee the security of their shipping services.
  • Past customers will leave positive reviews and ratings online. These reviews should be easy to find through the search engines. Read them over before hiring anyone for the shipping process.
  • Any long standing transport company will have an assortment of transport services and features to choose from, no matter what type of vehicle you need to have delivered.
  • The customer service representatives will be friendly, helpful and full of valuable information.
  • They won’t ask for any money upfront. If you are ever asked for a large down payment or full payment before the services were conducted, be cautious. You could be dealing with a scam artist. This is why researching the company before hiring them is essential to the successful delivery of your Camaro.

When you have finally found the right transport company for your vehicle, schedule your transport date and begin preparing for the big day as necessary.

Get the Camaro Ready for Its Travels

Aside from hiring the best transport company you can find, you will need to assure that you prep your Camaro as requested. Any transport company concerned with the safe delivery of your vehicle will have a small list of prerequisites that they will hold you responsible for. Fulfilling these requests will only protect your Camaro and those handling its delivery.

  • Wash the exterior of the Camaro making sure all dirt and debris is removed. Clean out the interior too and only leave floor mats, a spare tire and a car jack. Any extra weight is bad for the transport and may even raise the rate you’re expected to pay.
  • Remove any non-factory items. Transporters can ship customized vehicles, but as the shipper, you may be subjected to higher costs. If you do not wish to remove any extra items you added to the Camaro over the years, consult with the transport company about the modifications to see what they suggest.
  • Inspect the Camaro for damages and write down any markings you are aware of. Take pictures of the outside and inside of the automobile. This type of documentation can be used after the delivery has been made and you are ready to give the Camaro another quick inspection for any possible harm caused by its delivery process.
  • Check all fluids. Unless otherwise asked, all fluids should be full with the exception of the gas tank which should read ¼ or less full. The tires should also be filled with air.
  • Disengage the alarm system and battery if asked.

and that my friends is how you ship your Camaro.

Five of The Most Memorable Pontiac Cars

Five of The Most Memorable Pontiac Cars

Pontiac was put to an end in 2009 but even now, seven years later, this classic name is still in high demand for those that truly fell in love with Pontiac and the extreme engineering and sleek style that the Pontiac name had. Pontiac was named after an Indian chief that led a failed attack on the British and was introduced in 1926 by General Motors (GM) brand as a companion for Oakland, a GM brand. The first car was simply called, the Pontiac Six and was labeled by the company as “Chief of the Sixes” because it had a 6-cylinder engine. By the year 1933, Pontiac had seen a huge surge in popularity and eventually, the Oakland brand fizzled out and Pontiac became the companion brand to Chevrolet by the year 1932. By 2009, the production of Pontiac ended due to financial problems but their popularity amongst collectors and those that have the need for speed has never ended. More than 90 car models were produced by Pontiac before the demise of the brand and while it is difficult to narrow this amazing brand down to a mere five, these are the top on the list of most memorable Pontiacs ever designed and placed for sale to the public.

5) 1969 Pontiac GTO “Judge”

pontiac GTO judge

The GTO was introduced in 1964, but the 1969 GTO was designed with a sleek fastback style unlike any of the previous years and had a mighty 400 cubic inch V8 engine that would go from zero to 60 in under five seconds. This care had it all including a 4-speed transmission, bucket seats and console and a key on the steering column instead of the dashboard as earlier models had. The “Judge” was introduced to be a competitor to the Plymouth Road Runner and was just a small amount more to purchase than the regular GTO. Nearly 7000 Judge models were sold in 1969 and until the middle of the year, all that were produced were the color red. Today, collectors work very hard to restore these cars and have them shipped by classic auto transporters to keep them safe when taking them to shows and events across the country. Then GTO, especially when fully restored or in showroom condition, is always a hit with car enthusiasts when they attend shows.

4) 1956 Pontiac Star Chief

In 1954, Pontiac manufactured the Star Chief, and when the second generation Star Chief was introduced in the year 1956, this car was the dream car for many. The 1956 model was manufactured not only in a hardtop but it was available in a 2 door coupe as well as a convertible. This steel machine is one that can really make collector stop and say, they just don’t make them like they used to. When they rolled off the showroom floor with their shiny duo pain jobs and fabulous chrome bumpers, they were the envy of the owner and even today, these cars are still a prized possession to those that are lucky enough to have one. While it’s not always easy to find a classic that is fully restored and ready for a new driver, these classic beauties are well worth the effort to spend time restoring.

3) 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT

fiero gt

The Pontiac Fiero is a name that is well-known no matter what area of the world you reside in. The Fiero was introduced in 1984, but the 1988 model is the one that made the list of most memorable because this was the year that Pontiac revamped the suspension as well as the control arms that kept the effort to steer down to a minimum, thus making the 1988 Pontiac Fiero smoother to drive and, for many, easier to race. The car was readily available as a 4 cylinder as well as a 6 cylinder and the style was sleek and smooth. While there were several other years available, the 1988 is the year that collectors tend to search for because this was the year that the improvements were able to truly capture the true charm, as well as speed, of the Fiero.

2) 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

pontiac firebird transam

It is highly doubtable that there is man over the age of 25 that does not know about theFirebird Trans Am. This car, known widely as the Trans Am, is one of the most popular models that Pontiac ever manufactured and thanks to movies like Smoky and the Bandit, has long been known as a fantasy car not only for men, but for many women as well. The Firebird came out in the late 1960’s but the 1978 model was by far, the one to go down in history as the most memorable of them all. With modular alloy wheels, an SE Trans Am rear spoiler and HD gas shocks, this V8 engine infused with 10% more power than any other year mad this car the most popular Firebird that had ever been engineered thus far.

1) 2010 Pontiac G6

pontiac G6

Rolling in at number one on the list of most memorable Pontiacs ever to have been built is the last automobile that ever rolled off the manufacturing lot and that was the 2010 G6. This sleek car was available as a coupe, sedan and convertible as well as with both four and six cylinder engines or a V8 with either manual or automatic transmissions. The G6 was fuel efficient and could get up to 22 miles per gallon in the city and 30 on the highway and could seat five passengers comfortably. While it definitely was not the fastest model ever designed by Pontiac, it was the last to be designed and sold, and when an era comes to an end for a motor vehicle, the ending is just as vital to the memory as the beginning.

Many car brands have come and gone throughout the years, but none quite as memorable, nor as missed, as the Pontiac. Whether you like a classic family car or a sleek and sporty race car, Pontiac had something for every taste. This was the incredible thing about Pontiac, they had such a vision for the future of the automobile and it is unfortunate that the vision had to end so abruptly. Pontiac was able to produce performance cars that people could afford and while many strive to do the same, this is something that other manufacturers have just not been able to compete with, even after the demise of Pontiac in 2009.
