Selling my very original and well-kept survivor F150. Entirely rust-free as can be seen in the body and chassis pictures. Sold here new in Albuquerque NM, here its whole life, first 37 years with the original owner, 9 months with the 2nd owner, then me. The original owner always kept it under a carport but received afternoon sun at the front, so has nice faded patina on the hood and roof. He had a camper shell on it so kept the bed extremely well preserved. It wears original paint except for a minor repair explained below.
The only modification from stock is the carburetor has been replaced, and added fog lights, the ONLY modifications other than maintenance items and new tires. You can even see the original factory build markings under the hood. Even has the original radio and speakers which still work well.
Powertrain:
Original 5.0L V8, automatic. Great motor that starts up quickly every time. Drives, steers, stops well, great cruiser at 70mph.
Exterior:
Extremely straight body and nicely preserved original color even under the hood & bed. Some minor scratches with age of course, and the clear coat over the blue is delaminating off the top of the center cab section. The lone dent is on the top of the front bumper. The Carfax shows some minor cosmetic damage reported in 1997. The 2nd owner told me that the original owner told him it was a parking lot dent and some paint scratches that were easily pulled out and paid by insurance. Can find no evidence of actual body work, unless it was done VERY well- i.e. no filler evident. So there is some paintwork but professionally done, blended well, likely at the passenger side extended cab section. The original owner installed a light hook-up for his camper, I have not tried it but left the connection for the next owner in the bed. It has a trailer ball but was reported to have been used only twice.
Interior:
The seats are original upholstery, but have become worn for the two principal passengers. I have tried to order the factory replacement seat covers but the lead time is 3 months unfortunately. My only reason for selling now is my mother passed away suddenly, the sale of this and 4 others will help pay for her estate expenses. So unfortunately I couldnt wait for the upholstery to arrive. Instead, I ordered a top quality saddle blanket split-bench cover (not cheap), and had it professionally installed. Very comfortable. The back seat is flawless. The rest of the interior is original and well preserved as you can see in the pictures. The headliner is missing its fabric as they didnt age particularly well.
Issues:
The carburetor doesn\'t seem to be tuned exactly right. My previous mechanic tried, but it still bogs a little off the line. Runs wonderfully otherwise, and has no problems at speed or on the highway. The gas gauge does not work. I ordered a replacement sending unit, will arrive before sale ends and will be provided to the buyer. The factory cruise control does not work either. The factory antenna is missing, and I do not have the key to the auxiliary tank box. One of the aftermarket fog lights the original owner added has a broken lens. The spare tire carrier hanger is broken and the spare unfortunately went with it.
Service history:
The original owner religiously maintained this truck. Unfortunately he lost his records file during a move so it was not passed on to the 2nd owner. I had it serviced for a carburetor tune and a new electric fuel pump installed, as the mechanical version wasn\'t delivering consistent pressure. Runs very well, and quite cool even though our hot summers. I had 4 new Goodyear tires installed, factory size.
Will be sad to see the old Bullnose go, I wish I didnt have to sell!
