1981 Mercedes 280 SE. It was originally owned by a German diplomat in Japan, hence the diplomat flag and the German plate. It has been modified by Lorinzer - this is a company that has been around since 1930 and does performance and luxury modifications to high-end vehicles. Google Lorinzer to learn more. The vehicle sports a 2.8L inline six cylinder - a bulletproof engine, that has undergone performance mods by Lorinzer, including a very classy Lorinzer exhaust. Gorgeous BBS rims. In addition the suspension has been lowered, the interior has been embellished and a larger gas tank installed. Since this car came from Japan the odometer is in km, but it has under 46K miles at the time of this ad (it is a daily driver so there may be slightly more by the time you read this). There are very few 41 year old cars that have this little mileage in this condition. This car was garaged it's entire life, and maintained by the book. No rust at all! Slicktop, no sunroof (which I prefer because they can leak in older cars). Recent improvements include brand new suspension and shocks (OEM), new tires, radio, and new AC. The AC is cold as ice, it is literally superior to my other current late-model cars. The color is the original 'Mimosa'. The paint is not perfect, but it is in excellent condition - there are a few small bubbles on the hood, but they do not show up well on pictures. Other than that the paint is flawless (see the pics). The interior is good, but not perfect. The green cloth interior is original. I have seat covers on to protect it, but there is a small tear in the driver's side cloth seat. The burl veneer trim is cracked in places, but mostly intact. Replacing it is not difficult, if you desire. You can see from the pictures that this is a clean, well-maintained car that is in outstanding shape for its age. It is not showroom - but it can be brought up to showroom quality easily. I prefer to use it as a daily driver. She is reliable and fun to drive.
