This 1977 Dodge D100 Warlock, originally from Oklahoma and always garage-kept, has undergone a meticulous frame-off restoration completed in 2009. It was repainted it's original factory color, Black Sunfire Metallic.
Under the hood, the Warlock is powered by a period-correct 360 V8 engine, expertly rebuilt to enhance performance. The engine rebuild was overseen by a renowned engine builder and NHRA member, also a designer for Chrysler. It features specific pistons and rods, aluminum heads, designated valves, a carburetor, and an intake cam with custom lift tolerances. The lifters are complemented with custom push rods, and the ignition system, initially an MSD, was later upgraded to Excel.
The transmission was rebuilt to original factory specifications by Plotts Transmission, ensuring reliability and authenticity. The truck's mechanical revitalization also included a new aluminum radiator, an electric fan, and a completely overhauled braking system with new rotors, calipers, drums, and rear axle seals. The rear end of the Warlock was lowered with fabricated spring drop hangers and reversed axle saddlers, enhancing its stance and driving dynamics.
Nearly 90% of the truck's wiring was replaced, ensuring electrical reliability. The interior refurbishment was entrusted to Mr. Marino, a local legend in upholstery. He reimagined the cabin, including an electric cylinder-mounted seat to accommodate a complete stereo system with a 500-watt amp and speakers, blending modern amenities with classic styling.
The trucks exterior retains its classic Warlock charm with oak bed and sideboards, accented by chrome rails. The tailgate features a hydraulic system for smooth operation and internal latches, eschewing traditional chains or hooks. LED rear lights and side markers, along with molded back uprights, modernize its lighting system. The truck sits on Keystone Classics wheels, matched with radial tires.
This 1977 Dodge D100 Warlock seamlessly blends its classic, distinctive design with modern enhancements and meticulous restoration work. It's a vehicle that can effortlessly cruise on regular unleaded gas for a Sunday drive or car show and is equally capable on the drag strip. The comprehensive restoration and upgrades make this Warlock not just a nod to the past but a well-tuned, reliable classic ready for today's roads.
