1971 Plymouth Scamp. Due to the popularity of the Dart Swinger, Plymouth decided to release their own version of the 2-door hardtop in 1971. The design combined the Dodge Dart Swinger hardtop body with a Valiant front end and 1970 Dodge Dart duel tail lamps. This 1971 Plymouth Scamp is powered by its rebuilt 360 CID Magnum V8 engine, backed by a 904 3-speed automatic transmission, and running to a 8 3/4' rear end with 3.55 Sure-Grip gears. Pop the hood and you will see a very clean engine compartment that will sure to make others envious at cruise ins and car shows. A few performance upgrades under the hood include: March Billet Serpentine Belt Drive System, MSD Digital 6 Ignition, MSD Pro Billet Distributor, Holley 4 Barrel Carburetor, and Headers. The transmission is a new 904 automatic transmission with a 9.5' torque converter (2,800 stall) built by Cope Racing Transmissions with only 2000 miles on it. The interior is original with the exception of new carpet, a new Legendary front bench seat cover, a custom gauge panel with Autometer Sport Comp gauges, and a new floor mounted B&M Quick Silver ratchet shifter. A few other performance upgrades include: 3' dual exhaust system with Summit Turbo Mufflers and H-Pipe, Driveshaft safety loop, 12 Gallon Fuel Cell, Holley Electric Fuel Pump, Stainless Braided Fuel Lines, and QA1 front adjustable shocks. A nice set of 15' custom steel wheels painted to match the car sit on all four corners fitted with new Plymouth dog-dish hubcaps. Options on this 1971 Plymouth Scamp for sale include: Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Hub Caps, and Radial Tires. More recent work: new idler arm, new pitman arm, new tie rods, rebuilt gear box, updated electrical. The BAD: It is the nature of A-Body Mopar Muscle Cars to have a drive train that has some slop. Rebuilding the gearbox, tie rods, idler and pitman arm helped some and cost me an arm and a leg. I would recommend the new owner to do a rack and pinion conversion so this car drives like new**Vehicle Location is at our clients home and Not In Cadillac, Michigan. **We do have a showroom with about 25 cars that is by appointment only **Please Call First and talk to one of our reps at 231-468-2809 EXT 1 ** FREE Consignment Visit Our Site Today Easy To List Your Vehicle and Get it Sold in Record Time.
