Gateway Classic Cars of Las Vegas is pleased to present a 1971 Ford Mustang Convertible in a special-order configuration. It comes in a Metallic Brown with Brown Vinyl Interior with a White Convertible Top.This first-generation Mustang was introduced in September of 1970 as a 1971 model during which a power convertible top was added along with a glass rear window. The model grew in length by 8", width by 3" and the wheelbase widened by 1" along with an increase in weight of a few hundred pounds. Power is generated by a 351 Cleveland V8. This example is mated to a 4 speed Muncie Manual Transmission. Handling this power was a Semi-Floating Hypoid Rear Axle with a 9" rear end with a 3:43 gear ratio on a live rear axle. Up front there is an independent suspension for improved steering and road handling ability. The uneven tracks are absorbed by BF Goodrich T/A Radials mounted on 5 spoke Aluminum Alloy American Racing two tone wheels in a 245 60 R15 setup all the way around. This example has been in the same family since new in 1970 and was custom ordered from the dealership at the time of purchase. It went through a restoration in the late 1980s and now carries front disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. The engine, transmission and rear end were all rebuilt and have approximately 15000 miles since the rebuild. If you are looking for that special 70s Muscle Car in a rag top that stands out form the crowd and can escape the crowd in a hurry and style then look no more.
