Featured here is a stunning 1970 Ford Torino Cobra Jet that has been under the same ownership for the last 25 years. This car is an original Cobra Jet car as documented in the Marti Report that will accompany the car with the sale.
Originally painted bright yellow, this SportsRoof Mustang was later re-finished in a dark blue metallic. The paint has been carefully applied over well-executed bodywork. The correct factory Ram Air hood with recessed twist-lock pins is in place featuring the correct blacked-out hood treatment. The front grille is blacked out with the characteristic quad headlights. The rear tail panel features split honeycomb inserts which sit just below the low-profile integrated deck spoiler. The special Cobra decals are appropriately in place on the front fenders and rear deck lid. Racing side mirrors are painted body color and chrome Magnum 500 wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich radial T/A with white letter tires finish off the intimidating style of this vintage muscle car.
Inside the black interior features bucket seats covered in black vinyl upholstery with knit woven inserts. Between the bucket seats sits a factory console featuring a walnut shift knob with an embossed Cobra emblem. The carpet is protected with custom carpeted floor mats embroidered with the 429 Cobra jet logo. The dash features the optional factory horizontal tachometer and a set of aftermarket AutoMeter oil pressure and temperature gauges were installed to monitor the engine vitals. Originally this car was equipped with an AM radio from the factory, however, a vintage AM/FM 8-track stereo was installed, and powers two rear deck-mounted 8 X 9 speakers.
Under the hood is well-detailed and presents nicely. The original numbers matching 429cid V8 has been replaced with a 460cid V8 that has been capped with the correct finned aluminum Cobra Jet valve covers and the Shaker Hood Scoop/Ram Air - air cleaner. Power is transferred through Ford SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic- C6 3-speed automatic transmission back to the Traction-Lok equipped rear differential filled 3.00:1 final drive gear. The engine rumbles powerfully through dual exhaust fitted with chambered mufflers that exit out back through chrome-tipped tailpipes. The underbody is unrestored but has been lightly undercoated and detailed with black chassis paint. The Cobra features power front disc brakes and power steering. A set of new adjustable ride-height rear shocks have been recently installed.
This Cobra Jet Torino will be sure to garner plenty of smiles and thumbs up as you cruise the boulevard or wheel into your local cars and caffeine. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.

For our consignors, we are the only auto brokers that offer a Transparent Sale Disclosure. This means, when a car sells, we provide an exact copy of the Bill of Sale. We do this so our clients know exactly who bought their car, where it went, and most importantly how much we sold it for. No funny business.
For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos and descriptions, a “no surprise” approach, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen. We are not a gallery.
